Camelina Macaw

Ooooo Casper is BRAVE! It just takes once to get bit, they won't do that ever again! If you try to pick Wickett up and put him near the Amazon's cage he flips out and cries like we were going to put him in the cage with her hahahhaha.

The Amazon must have a mean bite on it LOL. Casper is a bit of a lil G. There was a Shepard outside being walked and he gets in is pot bellied stance LOL. Started taking him on a longer walk today. Tomorrow I may go all the way to the major street with him. This weekend Ill take him to the dog park and start the socializing. Grey what you said is true about the Hybrids. Its like Russian roulette sometimes. Their colors are truly amazing and Ive had good luck thus far but their close to reaching puberty which could change things a bit.

HAHAHAHA!!! A little G, he does look like a one! Yea...Margret doesn't take crap from anyone, and she really only likes men. I try to win her over by bringing her marked out goodies from starbucks when I work. The fruit cups are a favorite around here, for the birds and bunnies! Even Xena tries to eat the fruit before they get it!

We used to call Xena the potato before she got a shape to her. Recently we were watching animal planet and they showed a fish called the potato grouper...that have huge heads and eat practically anything....well ....Xena is also called the potato grouper now LOL

LOL Potato Grouper with teeth!! Rabbits too? Xena doesnt mess with them? Im trying to get Casper to stop eating everything/anything!! Finally got him out of the kitty litter because the fresh breath wasnt fooling anyone LOL Gross!

I hate to tell you.......sigh

She just eats the rabbit's poop. And .....we had to elevate the cat litter box. Mmmmm doggy almond rocca! She is destroying EVERYTHING!!! She just ruined a real football today. She took one lair of skin off, then the next...now it's flat and in pieces. Cat **** breath is the WORST. Bunny **** doesn't smell thank god, and she helps me by cleaning my room!!! The bunnies sometimes bounce the turds out of their litter box so ....gee thanks for the help Xena!

Also...Xena is determined to eat all the "Pretty Bird" brand pellets. We got a new 40lbs bag in from dr foster/smith website and she freaking chewed open the box, and then the bag, and then ate the pellets. When I refill my bucket for my birds downstairs, she will try to inhale as much as she can when I pour it. It's ridiculous!!!!!!!

Geez all the things to look forward too LOL Hes a hot mess. spends the day eating fruits and veggies that the birds throw out or drop LOL Ive been giving him Bananas for breakfast cuz I saw on a website that its good for them. Dude whats that smell!!! He just bombed my room again!! ITs been smelling on and off for two hours now. I cant watch the game in peace...FML LOL

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pzzzzzzzzzt pzzzzzzzzzzt pzzzzzzzzzzzzzt!!!!!! *runs away!!!!*

The breeder had her on natures balance or something, then we tried to get her on science diet with the rest of the dogs....made her even gassier!

we recently had to deal with her getting hives!! they were all over the hind legs, bum, back and face/nose. she got a shot from the vets, they said its from the grass/allergies. keep an eye out for that stuff too, i guess skin issues/allergies are common for the breed too. she's been fine, before getting the shot we were giving her a benydrill pill and that helped, but since the shot she hasn't gotten anymore.

I just switched him to Blue Buffalo which has aided his bombardment against humanity since yesterday. Science Diet I believe is corn based which you need to make sure shes not allergic to. Alot of people are going with the raw diet for bullies but I cant be weighing chicken, cutting animal legs etc. LOL Blue buffalo is meat based which is what drew me to it. I also started including can food to his kibble cuz I feel like kibble everyday has to get boring for him. Occasionally sneak a egg into the kibble and all the other foods he scavenges I think hes content :)LOL

We do mix canned food and warm water to the kibbles ...or I should say my poor mother does. She feeds the herd here. I have seen good reviews about BB. I think right now my brother and mom are err whats what word ....they are leery to switch her right now with the recent allergies. I think the tooting thing is a terrier trait .....Leia was called the "leaky barrel" ..........LOL

See if you aren't afraid of that scarlet hybrid why so much of the harlequin... Scarlets pack a worse bite IMO... Every scarlet or scarlet hybrid has had a nasty bite, harlequins are not bad at all in fact mine bit me last night and all I have is a bruise no blood at all:)
I have to agree that IMO a Scarlet has a lot worse bite. I have been straight out gone after by a little brat one, and it tore the day lights out of me, and the dang thing was only 6 months. Most Scarlets I have been around have had some bad attitudes like the stuck up jocks in high school lol. Phoenix is part Green Wing so he has a beak similiar to a Scarlet, but not totally. He has crunched down on my hard enough to make my fingers go numb, and got my wrist good one day my whole hand went numb, and he has drawn blood before (no he isn't a mean bird he is a rescue that was never socialized and left in a cage with 7 other Macaws). Phoenix is almost 2, and is a lot bigger then that 6 month old, but I would rather get a nice bite from Phoenix then that dang Scarlet again.

Im bracing myself for his bite as hes got crunching power LOL. He lunges at my attempts and I have beak control but its intimidating. Getting him on the hand perch is not a issue although he will semi lunge. Even the top of his monster beak is strong lol

Hi guys I just picked up our Camelina Macaw today and I wanted to know if anyone has one as well? Hes a sweetheart now but I know the Scarlet in him makes him a high maintenance bird LOL Any pitfalls I should look out for?

Heres him during his introduction with Mac n Lola

Dear Sir,

Where have you got this Camelina Macaw? Do you breed them or you have got it from a specific breeder?

Can you please help me that I can get one of these as well.

Please email me on: [email protected]
