Camelina Macaw

I want 7 Macaws LOL:)

you say that;), but realize its not always amazing, hormones can be crazy if one is in a bad mood they tend to rub off onto each other, thel ist goes on... the pros outway the cons for sure but it is not sugar coated here:) lol.... I love them all dearly though and wouldnt change it for the world.

Like your new avitar JT [is that you if you were a bird] LOL :) I think I would be a zon [I like to speak my mind :)]

No a black palm is my dream bird:p, just wanted a change from boo man, might change t later to something more,erm..... Macaw like;)

Thanks JT those seem like simple things to make :-) The milkjug one I have a question? Isnt it dangerous as he can break and swallow pieces of the jug? 7 Macaws must be insane!! LOL

Awww!! Casper how cute! They are such great dogs! I just love that big nose! Xena is only 35lbs now!!

Most milk jugs should be a soft pliable plastic in my expirence, so they just chew off little peices like they do with wood and drop them, it's not like hard plastic that could create tension and snap.

Yea Casper gains about a pound a day LOL. Did you have any issues with biting too hard during play? Waiting for his last shots before walking him around. Hes full of expendable energy LOL JT Im a try it out and see how it goes. Ill post some pics tomorrow.

Yes Xena went through a mouthy stage and she still plays too rough with other dogs and bites too hard. Are you going to neuter him soon? I really recommend it, we had aggression issues with a 4 y/o unaltered male that we adopted from a shelter, he was neutered before coming to our house but he tried to kill our dogs even though they "said" he wasn't dog aggressive....... We had to rehome him and a family friend took him in ...and he killed a cat in their backyard and then attacked their large female pittbull.....so he went to a bull terrier rescue group and we bought a female puppy to raise on our own. It was all very heartbreaking, its a pretty long story but I tried to shorten it. The shelter said they would take him back to euthanize him!!! Even though this was their fault for not properly assessing his behavior. So my brother initially adopted him for 300$, then all his shots and toys and everything was like another 400$ because we used a package deal that is like pet insurance, then he had to pay the rescue 300$ to take him because they didn't have room for him and had to kennel him before he had a home.

...so yea.... he tried to kill our male, neutered pomeranian and that started the re-homing process. So we still loved the breed, he loved people ...but yea we ended up finding a breeder and stuck with a female. But the real problem with the male that we adopted was that he was abused (he would flinch when you flung your arms open to hug him, deathly afraid of the garden hose, etc) , not properly socialized and had aggression issues mainly against small male dogs, which then just manifested when we rehomed him to the family with the larger pitbull mix female ...he was fine with her for 6 months, then they killed the cat together, and then got into a nasty fight with each other, so he went to the rescue and i believe he got into a home with no other dogs or cats. he was very loving and would make a great companion for a human. he really adored my brother. so sad. I do miss him, but my pomeranian has issues now and he HATES Xena. She can be 10 feet away from him and he starts snarling and going haywire. So we still are having issues in our house, and now Xena is signed up for her second round of dog training classes. "puppy school yay" Also....she has become very OCD with tennis balls ...watch out for strange behavior such as tail chasing, I hear that it's one of the worst they can have. Xena just carries her ball everywhere and ALL day. The new game with it now is to drop it in the toilet ........drop it in the sink then not beable to get it out herself, drop it in the pond, drop it in the kiddy pool ....etc. Then you complain about it and bark until you work up your nerve to stick your face in and get it yourself. OR....someone feels bad for you and fishes it out. *SIGH*

Yea Im considering the neutering. How old must he be to have the procedure done. He lives with two cats now hich is my main concern. Im getting his last Parvo and rabies shots this weekend so I will take him out and try to socialize him every chance I get. He occasionally does the tail chasing but i stop him ASAP. Dont want it to become a trend. He plays with the tennis ball but its not really a big deal for him. He chews everything. Hes like a tiny great white shark LMAO. Have to get him some training ASAP but the $$ is a issue right now and Im pretty stern with him. His play biting is more with the kids and wife. Im much more stern with him. House breaking has been a Mission :-( He wont pee all day while home in his playpen area with crate and once he goes outside he will relieve himself but once loose its like anywhere is good to pee or #2 :-( I hate to keep him crated all day but what else can I do? Any how here are new pics of th ecrew and a video of him and the cat crew LOL

You can neuter him as soon as his testicles descend, so around 3-4 months. You can go through your local humane society to get a low cost neuter. I got my rabbits neutered for 70$ from society up here. They do dogs and cats for the same price.

Lovely pics ...

We call Xena the ...."Land Shark" hahahahhaaha

For potty training, we ran Xena outside every 45min to pee, and then once she goes pee she gets a treat to reward the behavior. She also has a crate and we kept her in a xpen when she was smaller to make sure she didnt wee all over the house. She was 9 weeks old tinkling outside like a champ.

He has spots on his ears just like Xena, he is so darling I love him! I told my family all about you and him lol! I guess I am an official dog and bird lover!!!

From the experience we had with the unaltered male/neutered when we adopted him...unless you want to breed him ....for your family it would be best to alter him. They piss all over and mark **** and think they are kings .... Lots of people don't alter their dogs and my family always has, but we enjoy going to dog parks, other peoples houses with dogs, and we have 4 dogs total ...and 5 sometimes with dogsitting ...with my rabbits it was necessary ....but from what I have seen with the breed ....I just think it had a lot to do with how he acted with aggression and if you aren't going to breed him then I do believe the price of a neuter will be well worth the price. Lot's of people don't alter their dogs and it doesn't matter to them but we had such a bad experience I wanted to share with you because I never would want someone to experience it. It's so unfair to fall in love with a dog that has aggression when "professionals" tell you that he doesn't. We have several books on kindle about the breed, do you have one so that I can send any to you? They were very helpful about the obsession issues that the breed has. I just went on the hill today to find the tennis balls that my brother threw over the fence in anger about her OCD behavior.....ugh. She's in her crate now at almost 1am....I was asked to take her into my room but she bothers my rabbits and my african grey ....(my brother went to Davis which is 2 hours away for a job interview in the morning so she needed watching)

Anything I say is because I never want anyone to have the same experience we had with a behavioral issue dog. Since he's growing up with your kids, other pets....there is a great chance you won't have issues and right now its just puppy stuff. I am really sorry the things I said were about killing cats and such and you have cats. Any dog and breed can have problems. You look like a great loving pet owner and family man .....I am just sharing my horrible experience with the shelter that sucks ass .... I will personally say ....we will never adopt a dog again ...and I feel bad for about 2 seconds but after you see a bully shake a pomeranian like a shark until you can run as fast as you can to break it up ......I can't ever trust a shelter dog again...but it's the people that work there...and of course the abusers own fault. My bf and I adopted an aussie at 1 year and she's the best. It's such a difficult thing. I do think tho that most people have good stories about adopting than stories like mine.

Lol! Now you just need to cut up a bunch of cardboard from your cereal boxes that you used the milk to eat:p. see how easy it is to entertain macaws?

Cereal is something we have an overabundance of here LOL. Yea Im going to neuter him. I socialize him as much as possible but with the testosterone and the breeds strong urge to be feisty its better to be safe than sorry. I fear for my cats as Ive heard horror stories about a perfectly normal Bullie who suddenly ate a cat or pomeranian like you said.Ive had just about every breed you can imagine from Akitas to Neos to Rotties etc. Bull Terriers have a stronger drive than most of these dogs. I also keep Casper in a playpen while were away so he aint cooped up in a crate all day. He normally wont pee or do # 2 inside of it. Hes getting his last shots this weekend so Ill be able to walk him for long distances without fear of Parvo. Burn off some energy and Im going to talk to the vet at the animal welfare to see the cost of neutering him there. I was hoping to one day get a female English bulldog to further complicate my life LOL.

Hey guys how did you get your birds used to each other? Mac has been trying to make his way to Sunnys cage and I havent let him get close as Id hate for one to rip the others toe off or have Mac literally eat Sunny. I was wondering do you think hed attack him? Is there a way to safely find out without putting either in harms way? Maybe move their playpens to a seperate area of the house and give them nuts or treats while they are near each other perhaps?

When the end is getting near, the decision to euthanize one's pet - or to end a friend's life - is never an easy one for a pet owner. It is often accompanied by much grief, anxiety and even guilt at the thought of having to decide to say goodbye to one's highly valued and often long time companion. We know this very well indeed; being devoted and multiple pet owners ourselves. As trained and caring professionals we will assist you in deciding when is the right time and support you through this difficult time - both before, during and after.

Thanks!
