Thanks Julie. It was REALLY hard letting Pazu go this morning... He knew something was up and was acting like a perfect little baby angel. The staff at the pet store fell in love with him in an instant..they were really surprised at how gently he ate from their hands.

I gave him a big cuddle before i put him in the big parrot cage, mostly cos he's my baby! But also so they could see how much of a cuddly sook he is. I think they all wanted to take him home haha. I've been assured by the owner (who we know) that Pazu will only be sold to a very good home. They know someone who has a young female red-sided Eclectus who is interested in a pet male, so they'll be calling him today.

But yes, until Pazu is sold I'm welcome to come down and visit him for a cuddle whenever I want. :) When I left he was having a ball listening to all the finches and budgies, and he and the Alexandrine store-bird were having conversations from different rooms haha. The Alexandrine was VERY excited.

Oh and more news! Squeaky Toy weaned himself today! :D YAY!!!

Stephen: Haha...yeah...she puts it in her rainwater tanks because she believes the silly 'MMS' ..hmm..poop (?) about it being a miracle cure for all ailments and just plain good for you... I looked at the ingredients and it is essentially concentrated bleach... She's a bit, odd, in that regard.

Thanks! Don't know, it may or may not be. He may be moved back inside in a week or two, we'll just see how he goes outside.

I did! He appreciated it. ^^

Sunset: Not yet. I'll have to wait another week, maybe 2. Thanks :)

Aww thank you Lisa. <3

Well, Pazu is back home with us for the weekend! It get's quite warm in the pet store on these sorts of hot days (36+ degrees celcius today and tomorrow), and since no one is at the Pet Store most of Saturdays and not at all on Sundays, Pazu is back home to keep cool... and he will go back to the Pet Store on Monday.

I have some photos of him that I'll upload later :)

Photos of the big boy! LOTS of photos... Being at the Pet Store is really socialising him much further than I ever could on my own. At the Pet Store he is out for most of the day on a rope hoop swing they have attached just above the main counter.

He has had about 20 minutes of snuggle time with me and has learned how to preen my entire face GENTLY! He's really made some progress! He's also being relatively quiet and well behaved. So glad! There are even more people interested in him and Squeaky Toy. :D

I guess you have to be conscious of making yourself detached enough to bear to give him back, while enjoying him on the weekends!

Pazu will make someone a wonderful pet. He's off to such a good start in his socialization! Wow, he looks so big too. Is that the size Red Sided usually are?

Yeah well when i have over $2000 worth of medical stuff to deal with, either way i know that Pazu and Squeaky Toy have to go..

I know, he's huge! No, red sided are usually a bit smaller. He's just a very big boy, bigger than his Dad for sure! Pazu has always had a large build, even as a chick.

Yes Grace we were, but he got far too loud for us, because he screamed when i was around for ALL of my attention but with 3 kids and my ongoing medical issues, none of us could really deal with it anymore. He's better off with someone who has more time for him.

Awwww .....I'm in Love now!!! Seriously it brings back memories of my grey at that stage.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. I hope whoever is sick gets better soon. I've enjoyed browsing this thread.(every other page) and plan on eventually reading it all.

P.s. at first I thought you were a teen. You look so young.

Awww thank you Hawk!

It's alright, at least i got the privilege of raising him. :) Thank you (actually I'm the one who's unwell, but I'm used to it).

Haha that's quite a task! Haha well thank you, that's good to hear! I'm 24 actually. :p

The avian store not far from me has 2 Baby Eclectus's that are like just a few weeks old. So cute, They also have a very adorable and sweet Red (female) Eclectus, large cage and all for $700....Owner passed away and Avian store rescued her. She is so tempting to bring home. I've Always wanted an Red Eclectus.

We got Venus a female Ekkie 21 days ago (9 more days of QT, can we speed up the days). Husband and I are in love with her, she's adjusting so well and is like night and day to Buddy, my GCA. Buddy, is nonstop noise, I can gage his moods easy, Venus is so quiet, she may scream twice a day but other than that, quiet. Very curious, I have to keep an eye on her because she is busy but she is lovable, very sweet.

Hawk if you decide to bring that Ekkie home, I'll root you on.

Kinny does Pazu scream because of your relationship with him, does he do that if you are not around? He's beautiful and he will find a great family.

I am afraid you will have that with almost every eclectus baby especially the boys they see the person that feeds them and they scream even if they were just fed. It's one of the many reasons I tell people looking for a pet eclectus to let the breeder fully wean it. I can't tell you how many people have contacted/consulted me because they thought it would be a good idea to hand feed and now the constant screaming is driving them crazy and making them not want to spend time with the baby. It becomes almost impossible to convince them that it will stop once they are fully weaned and for a while after they are fully eating on their own and become a little more independent. It is one of the few obnoxious things about baby eclectus.

Taw: 9 whole days!!! D: Seems like forever! Haha. Yes Pazu screams because I'm 'Mummy' and he looooves his Mummy. He doesn't scream if I'm out of sight and if he cannot hear me, but as soon as he sees or hears me, he'll scream. And only with me, anyone else can go up to him, cuddle him, talk, and he won't scream.

Haha labell... I've come to see that.. Squeaky Toy is now very loud when he sees or hears me...not a screamer like Pazu but it's loud. I actually have an ad up for him now.

And we finally know the gender of the 3rd chick... it.. is..GIANT!!! Only 3 weeks old and half the size of the parents...

It's a boy! (extreme disappointment....) So we won't be raising him, miss Mummy Sen will be doing that.

Oooh Hawk let us know how it goes. :)

UPDATE!

Squeaky Toy was sold for $750 last Wednesday to a lady with 2 sons who love him (around 8 and 10 years old) and a teen daughter who was TOTALLY not interested...lol. They only live 40 minutes away. :)

And I got a call yesterday morning from Dempsey's Saddlery asking if we could pick Pazu up. The store owner was getting frustrated because he'd had 8 people interested in him but then they either don't show up to pick Pazu up, or they just plain old never got back to him. That and his staff were paying so much attention to Pazu that they weren't doing much of their work.

So Pazu is back, I reluctantly put an Ad up again for him yesterday and have someone interested in him (a man with a girlfriend..not that there's anything wrong with that, Pazu would just suit a family with children better) and they will probably come see him on the weekend.

Pazu has not done his loud annoying whine yet. He's been making "Cawww", "Heewo", "Ooowhaaaaaa?" noises and loads of clicking/kissing noises.. And he still loves lots of cuddles! I don't want to sell him now! D: But my husband doesn't want to keep him at all... So hard having to give him up again!

EDIT: Oh yes! The 3rd chick 'Gigantore' is 7 weeks old now! We've decided to take him out at 10 weeks to tame him up.

Aw Pazu had to come home, but in a way that's good? That way you yourself can select the best new home. :) Good luck with that!

Gigantore! LOL the name :D he's so adorable!

Yes! He's so adorable - again! :) Yup! I had a talk with Loki and we've decided Pazu will only go to a family with children. So his potential buyers are now very interested in Gigantore - so we will take him out for taming/raising next week or the week after, and focus more on harness training, cuddles etc and not focus so much on interacting with children. Everybody's happy ^^

Haha why thank you ;D
