I am looking to buy a full spectrum light and found the Avian Sun lamp but can't find the bulbs anywhere for sale. I don't want to buy the lamp if I can't get the bulbs...any idea where to buy them? Does anyone know if they going out of business? I tried Amazon, Chewy, Petco etc. This is the one I am referring to: https://zoomed.com/avian-sun-5-0-uvb-compact-fluorescent/

Petco has them. Be careful with those. You could end up blinding your bird if used incorrectly.

Hmmm… I bought mine on Chewy but that was over a year ago. To the above post about these lights potentially being hard on a bird’s eyes: just make sure that the lamp is shining down from the top and not from the side and that your bird can move away from it at will, and don’t leave it on for more than six hours at a time. I’ve used one of these for my Quaker during the winter months and keep it on one side of his large flight cage. Sometimes he would sit right under it, sometimes he would stay on the opposite side of the cage. Hope you can find what you’re looking for!

Waveform lighting has a variety of lights and compleat lamps. Prices are very reasonable especially for multipacks. Delivery is fast too. Got my pack in about 10 days. They specifically advertised their lamps as having no toxic materials. So their safer if broken. https://www.waveformlighting.com/

Doesn't it seen too risky to use lamps that could potentially ruin a bird's eyes? The birds will be fine or close to fine without direct sunlight. I'd never forgive myself if it harmed my bird's eyes!

I don't know much about it but he gets not much sun at all really. And he's so itchy all the time. I was thinking it could be related to lack of sunlight?

Does he like baths? My budgies all love to play in the kitchen sink sprayer. I think it's good for

Good for their skin. I'm looking forward to spring when I can open the curtains and windows (with screens) and let them all get some sunlight and fresh air. I think dry winter air is hard on their skin. Perhaps try a humidifier.
