A sweet little birdie called Lovejoy 💖

Aweee I just love them! Give them both a kiss from me and Ona!
I sure will, soon as I can catch 'em. They've both got the zoomies this morning, Peachie's been sneaking Lovejoy's lorikeet food again!!

Wow, two amped birds!! That must require keeping ones head on the swivel!!

A 'Joy' just to keep up with their activities!!
Yep, all five of them kept me pretty busy yesterday, Uncle Boats, but they got a shower from the squirt bottle in the afternoon that slowed 'em all right down. All except Lovejoy that is who still hates the bottle - but he may have got a bit of an incidental shower as he got caught in the crossfire while I squirted the other four. I tell you, I reckon I could squirt Peachie all day long and she would just LOVE it!!

Thought I'd give Lovejoy some kiwifruit with his breakfast this morning ....

..... no prizes for guessing who muscled in!!!

.... and doesn't she look proud of herself??!!

Wow, is she proud or what!!
Step Back Boys, Girl Power wins this Bowl!!
She sure does, Uncle Boats. And at one hen versus four roosters she's got 'em completely outnumbered, and outclassed too!! ;)

Found these two wing feathers of Lovejoy's whilst vacuuming this morning. Mirror images and shed within a few hours of each other!

I'm not sure of his exact hatch date but he'd be about 14 months old by now and as small lorikeet species like him reach maturity around the 12-14 month mark I guess that means we are right in the zone. Increased biteyness suggests this too - that beak is only tiny but it sure is sharp and he can clamp down mighty hard when he wants to as well, one must respect the beak irrespective of size. My baby boy is growing up fast!!

Pics for birdy tax. I just love the way his red head radiates in the sun, it's positively thermo-nuclear!!

How have I missed this thread full of so much beauty?? The pictures have me mesmerized!
Lovejoy says to say "Thank you Aunty Lea, you are most kind!" The little red rooster is handsome AND charming too!

A funny thing happened in Lovejoyland this evening. He is still VERY keen for his pre-bedtime snuggles, which are getting just a little later each day as summer approaches - it is very much dictated by whatever time HE determines sunset to be!

There's a British TV show I like to watch around this time of day called "Long Lost Family", which people who have been separated by adoption or various circumstances, often for many decades, turn to for help when they've hit a dead end in locating their relatives. I don't know quite why I watch it, perhaps as a kid brought up by my grandmother it strikes a chord, and it often makes me cry though they are happy tears when people are reunited 💖 Anyway, today's episode featured a man in his mid-sixties from Wales who had been fruitlessly searching for his little sister for most of this life with no success. He enlisted this show to help find her, and it turned out she had emigrated to New Zealand decades before, where they found her and gave him the good news. It meant that one of them was going to have a very long plane trip to be reunited with the other, and my husband said to me "Ok, so I wonder which one of them is going to be travelling?" At that very moment, the little-red headed rooster decided that snuggle time had started, and he flew to take up his position on one of our light fittings, from whence he regards my husband with a baleful eye which tells hubby in no uncertain terms that he needs to leave RIGHT NOW!! So I said, "Looks like YOU'RE the one doing the travelling, dear!", whereupon hubby obediently did as Lovejoy instructed and left the room.

No prizes for guessing who's at the top of the pecking order in this house!! 😆

Haha! How funny that he makes hubby leave the room for your "date time" 🤣

Well Uncle @SailBoat, let's just say he runs a very tight ship!!

Who's gonna deny that little face from getting exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it? Not me!! And the little bugger knows it too ;) 💖

Lovejoy is in an EXTREMELY bouncy mood this morning, but in his usual fashion the moment he sees the phone/camera he HAS to fly over to it instead!! I had to do a bit of filming by stealth so you have to crank the volume up to hear him say it, but he's bouncy bouncy bouncing for your listening and viewing pleasure. Plus a little "who's a good boy" and some kissy kissies too :)

.... and what happens the moment he sees the phone!!

What a good boy! Being a male of the species, I admit I enjoy a little bouncy bouncin' every now and again myself ;)🤣🤣🤣

I've heard a rumour floating 'round the countryside to that effect ..............

Meanwhile, Lovejoy and Peachie enjoyed sharing a healthy snack of apple with their dad this morning ....
