25 year dream coming true!

I have dreamed of a macaw from the time I was a teen. I was talked out of one then (and for good reasons, I had no idea what life would be like) and then the time has never been right, raising kids, a messy divorce.

Well I was just given the biggest gift in my life and was given the chance to rehome a Female Blue and Gold Macaw. This is a truly loving rehome where the owner is looking out for the best for this beautiful girl. She will be flying to me on Sunday and I am beside myself with excitement! The cage is ready and ever thing is in place. My flock thinks I have lost my mind with all the moving around in the bird room!

Her name is Paris and she is 10 years old. She will be flying in from North Carolina. She may be a blue chicken but the real estate the 7x4x4 cage takes up is a lot!

Congrats! I'm green with envy! I've had two macaws but only temporarily (long enough for them to be rehabilitated, switched to a good diet and good homes found for them) because I've never had a birdroom long enough for them... maybe in the future but I doubt it, I am getting too old.

Well she handled the fight and 3 hour drive home great! We just got home and got settled in her new cage. She is soooo beautiful! I will try to post some pics in the morning!
