Zilla Finally Enjoyed a Bath!

That's great! I wish my birds enjoyed misting... they enjoy showers to a certain extent. I guess I should say they tolerate it, haha. Avery prefers to bathe, and unfortunately Shiko is terrible at bathing himself and basically drowns every time he tries. I'd definitely love to see an adorable picture of Zilla all soaked!

Yay!!!! Patience pay off for sure. I crack up at Buddy, when he's on my shoulder and we go in the restroom he dry showers on my shoulder. He hears the fan and starts making happy sounds, fluffing up, spreading his wings shaking off his imaginary water, it's a sight lol.

One thing we do to make misting enjoyable is to fill the bottle with HOT tap water. It might seem counter-intuitive, but it cools off enormously when it comes out of the sprayer, and is just comfortably warm when it lands on the bird. Luke warm tap water in the sprayer will be very cold when it hits the bird - not so nice.

We also scent the water with a bit of natural vanilla - the birds love the smell, love the taste, and they smell nice themselves afterward.

With our birds, once they've been misted they immediately go looking for a large dish to bathe in, so we always have those ready, filled with nice warm, clean water. After a few minutes, everything within 6 feet is wet!
