Woohoo! Raven is safely home with us and she's gorgeous! Here's a pic of her in the car with the kids:

She's very quiet and laid-back, affectionate and extremely polite. She's met the birds and they all nearly had a heart attack. She got a bit excited with all the flappage and squawkage, but has since settled down and so have the birds. So that's good.

This poor little creature belonged to a couple that divorced. After they separated, she was left alone in their apartment for three weeks! She's still extremely thin, but the fly-strike on her ears has healed and she just needs to be fed and given some TLC. We're going to change her name, but being a family of very opinionated people, we haven't yet chosen one that we agree on. More on that later. For now, everybody's very happy!

Thank you for the good wishes, everyone. Our new little girl is officially Roxanne now. The main reason we didn't want to call her Raven was an old Newcastle joke about someone being a 'ravin' ratbag', which is not a nice thing to say to a bloke.

The poor little thing is so excited, she's been trying to drink her bowl dry (I put a stop to that), vomited twice, piddled in each of the kids' bedrooms and had a wee poop in mine. Nothing out of the ordinary for a poor little confused girl. Thankfully, Hubby's out at his Photography evening, so all the little messes have been cleaned up and the house is smelling like spring flowers. That's a lie, but anyway...

Hubby has fallen for Roxanne in the best way. She snuggled her muzzle into his hand and then went to sleep standing up with her head in his lap. He's in love!

All this occurred sort of suddenly: I just happened to be browsing the Bully Rescue pages and saw her and she seemed just right for us. When I rang, the woman told me 130 calls had come in for Roxanne, but most of them were from young couples who worked and wanted an outside dog. She felt that we were perfect for Rox and was convinced when Rox bounded up to my Matthew as soon as she saw him. Having been neglected/abused, Rox is a bit standoffish with unknown people. Once she's a bit more healthy and robust, we'll see to fixing that by taking her out and about and giving her lots of experiences. For now, our cats are utterly horrified that we've brought a New Animal into the house without consulting them. Rox is fine with them, but the cats have gone all snobby and won't even look at her without getting their backs up and hissing like old teakettles. LOL! They'll learn.

Roxanne is seven months old: too young to have been betrayed by her people, poor little thing. LOL! I'd take pics, only every time I sit down, one of the kids will bellow 'Maaarm! She's piddled again!' It's all the three of us can do to keep the buckets of water and disinfectant up to her jumpy bladder! LOL!

Roxanne is having a bit of a nervous reaction tonight, I think. Oh well. She'll do better tomorrow.

She'll settle down and stop the piddling soon enough, just scared right now

Roxanne is lovely! I'm so happy she found your family to be a part of after such a rough start so early in her life. My grand puppy, Georgie was found wandering alone and half starved at about the same age, he was given to my son. He's also a bull terrier, he wishes Rox the very best.
