Which cage would be better?

I'm looking at new cages for my Half Moon Conure and I love the Kings cage SLUX2716 and SLUX3222. I can't decide which one to go with. The weird thing is the smaller one has 5/8 spacing and the bigger one has 1/2 spacing. I am leaning toward the one with 5/8 for a couple of reasons. I thought the larger bar spacing might be good to see more and the smaller size would fit my space better. But, I keep reading to give them as much space as possible. I have also read that a 18x18x25 is the recommended size so maybe the big one is overkill? I am new to birds so would love to hear any thoughts and suggestions as I have no idea what I'm doing! Lol!

There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to cage size. Both of my green cheek conures have 30 inch by 30 inch by 45 inch cages each. They use every inch of them. :)

Thank you! Is the larger spacing better (as long as it's a safe spacing for the particular species) or does it not really matter? Are your GCC in 5/8 or 1/2 inch spacing?

My conure was in an 18"x18"x20". Whenever I see a cage that small I shudder. Small cages are fine for sleeping or if the birds are only in it for traveling, but I'm with Ann - bigger is always better! My conure is in a 27"x21"x56" dometop cage, and if she was more active like my Ringneck I would be going much larger right now. One day I hope to have them each in their own small indoor walk-in aviaries.

The bar spacing on my cage is 1/2 inch. I dont have any problem with visibility, but i might just be used to it. :)

5/8 bar spacing is the absolute max for a GCC. 1/2 inch is guaranteed safer so I would recommend that. This is per my avian vet and I have a GCC in 1/2 spacing and that's the max I would personally go. :) and it's even better yet that the 1/2 spacing you're looking at is larger. They can never have too much room.
Btw, I'm a huge fan of HQ cages. Very high quality. You may want to check those out too. I get mine on amazon and Dr's foster and smith.
