What are some good, well reputable sites that sell dried food like chilies and bananas and everything else. I just want to make sure they're safe for my birds. They like to get some of these as treats.

Where would you buy these if you were going to eat them? I go to local farmers market and ask questions mostly, if its healthy for you it will be ok for your fid.

go to the produce isle in HEB, they got a ton of organic stuff in small bags there, all kinds of nuts, dried fruits, etc. Where I shop it's kind of separated from all the fruits and veggies.

Thanks. I would buy them from the store, but most of the ones at our Sprouts food market are covered in sugar and I didn't think these would be good for the birds.

Barkley, you don't have an HEB there? (Tx based)

I think we do. Or at least one in a neighboring city. I have never been there before so I will have to look one up. But thanks for the tip!

you could also try your local health food store or whole foods market if available in your area. Alison and sweetie pie:D

Me too for Mysafebirdstore. You will find the link on the bottom of forum page as they are now a sponsor here.

Thank you all for your help! I'm trying to get my birds to eat more fruits and veggies (Ecclectus and Pionus, Ecclectus especially). They apparently have made a quite a dent in the fruits I left behind when I went out of town :p

Wharfrat, apparently all the H-E-B's are about an hour south of me, so I'll try whole foods and mysafebirdstore.com for now. But I do plan to take a trip out to one as soon as it's feasible. I'll just stock up.
