Just wondering if anyone's birds here have a music preference.. My conures are used to us listening to a harder rock/post metal genre but I think their favourite is Blue October. Not sure how to explain it, they just seem content when it plays. Hehe.
However Yoshi, the Eclectus started making noise this morning while listening to Nevershoutnever and Cute is What We Aim for. Maybe he likes softer music than my other two haha :) Does your bird have a favourite style/band?

Ivory's favorite is Maroon 5 :) Her favorite song is Moves Like Jagger... best or funniest part is that my husband hates Maroon 5, so we enjoy driving him nuts with it!

Hehe that's funny.. Kiwi used to really like techno/dubstep when we lived with my parents cause my brother played it alot, she would "try" to sing along haha.. But we don't listen to it really now that we've moved, so she has to learn new things to sing to :p

Percy loves old music! LOL! He especially loves the songs "My Bonnie lies over the ocean" and "You are my Sunshine" and anything by Frank Sinatra
He also ADORES opera - but only Andrea Bocelli.
And he's another Maroon 5 lover ;) - especially One More Night.
Lastly, his themesong (first song he reacted to) since he came to live with us, is "Troublemaker".... I should have known then already! LOL!! :D

My guys listen to oldies from the 70's and 80's. We tried country and that was a disaster, but the rap music my friend who was visiting played was much worse. When they hate the music, the scream and attack their cage bars. I love country, but feel the same as they do about rap..lol.

Your birds have good taste. My QP, Harry loves any and all music, even my awful singing. Her favorite is the Gorillaz, Clint Eastwood. She likes the monkey noise and makes it every time she hears the song. She also likes, I'm just wild a out Harry and Christina Aguilera's, I'm A Good Girl. Ha Ha, Harry tries to be a good girl. My other birds are learning to like music. I'm looking for something catchy for my cockatoo to dance to. Toos are born to dance.

Kiwi likes that european electro-club music. He starts dancing and shaking his tail.

He also likes when we sing him nursery rhymes. I think yankee doodle is his favorite, because he starts babbling and making such cute, soft noises.

I joked that my Gilbert seems to be a little flower child. His first favorite song was the Youngbloods "Get Together". I wasn't even playing it at home but when we were out one day last summer, he heard it and was SO excited. Every time he hears me sing it, he gets excited.
Other than that, he just participates in whatever i'm doing. He watches Rush dvds with me and seems to get into that too.

This is a trick question, because after I tell you all what my fids like to "party" to, everyone will know my taste as well. :32:

So I will quickly list those that come to mind, and then run and hide under a rock. :54:

Bee Gees, Fun!, Cher, Maroon 5, Celine Dion, Bee Gees, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Leo Sayer, Bee Gees, Bonnie Tyler, Falco, Bee Gees.

Did I mention the Bee Gees yet? :D :D

Wendy, I knew we were friends for a reason..lol.

Haha I guess their taste would "usually" be pretty close to that of our own.
I listen to a few stand up comedians on pandora, I think my conures find it entertaining cause of all the different voices.
But mostly what I listen to is more along the lines of Of Mice & Men, Nevershoutnever, Sleeping With Sirens, Nine Inch Nails, Bayside, Blue October, Coheed and Cambria, etc... just pretty much everything except most rap.
Yoshi hasn't really responded to any music in particular. Pretty sure the chattiness with Nevershoutnever was a coincidence, as he hasn't made any sound since breakfast hah.

Anything they can bop their heads too...

There is one song in particular that just sets Maggie off: Gwen Stephanie's crash... I think Sarah posted that one on Utube or something.

Every birdie gets on the dance floor for that one.

My guys listen to oldies from the 70's and 80's. We tried country and that was a disaster, but the rap music my friend who was visiting played was much worse. When they hate the music, the scream and attack their cage bars. I love country, but feel the same as they do about rap..lol.

I couldn't agree more, Terry. Rap rhymes with a word and describes what it is ;)

My birds like classic rock, electronica (Kraftwerk), folk rock, and some Indie. Just like I do :)

Ska and female crooners like Norah Jones are some of hahnzels favorites.

Wesley will stop what ever he is doing to sing and dance to "Right now" by Akon and he also like the next song on the IPod Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire".

I'm not sure who is the worst singer between he and I but when Adel come on he can actually sing (better then me) I'm jealous.

My husband swears I listen to a larger range of music than anyone he has ever known. The ones that the birds seem to enjoy as well are John Lee Hooker, Otis Redding, Susan Tedeschi, Rosemary Clooney, Pasty Cline, Bee Gees, Seal, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones (older stuff), Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Dobie Gray, Janis Joplin, Adele, Janis Ian, Simon and Garfunkel and Elvis...
Long ago in my troubled youth I wrote poetry so I love songs where you can hear longing, despair and emotion and since I tend to sing along with these songs my birds like them best because they love listening to me. It is always something I do when I first get a bird, I sing softly to them on the way home in the car and for several days while they are settling in.:D

Must be something about Maroon 5. We got Folger to dance to them last night:D

REALLY my birdies enjoy to listen MICHAEL JACKSON`s songs and they love him just like me they mostly like song speed damon amd thrilar hehehe:green2:

Did I mention the Bee Gees yet? :D :D
hahaha, I put the beegees on today and then I thought I'd better go get her so she could dance along.... She wasn't really in a dancing mood, she just watched me while I tried to teach her disco dancing. We also like "Happy" by Pharrell Williams

"Our" song is Volare by Domenico Modugno. She puts her wings out during the "volare" bit.
