What the heck is going on??

Okay so this is just new popping up today. I'm having this really obnoxious side bar ad pop up left and right every time i go to a new page on the forum. then sometimes if i click a new page or submit reply, or anything, i sometimes get an ad pop up in a whole new tab. then when i tried to thank someone, i got an error message! is this happening to anyone else?

Did you recently update/upgrade your Internet browser?

Check your browser settings for pop-ups...see if the blocker is turned on or not.

i have not updated my browser at all recently. it wasnt doing this yesterday, it just started now. but i'm going to check my pop up setting....

ah pardon my computer talk ignorance here, but what is a platform? i use google chrome.


also, signature photos are being blown up like crazy (so far noticed a few, especially MikeyTN's lola, and Terry's--see new screenshot!)







i cant thank anyone either but important to note, seems the side bar pop up is popping up on photobucket as well... how annoying...

okay, i found it in my settings... but what's strange is that my pop up ad setting is OFF :/

Yikes, that sig is huge! I am also using chrome but am not having any of these issues.

i'm gonna scan my computer, see what's up. my husband downloads things, so who knows if something happened there. i'll also try rebooting if everything comes up clean

I hope you have it solved! I've been having the signature picture coming up huge for me as well.

scan was clean, but now the ads are 10000 times worse!!!! im able to thank people but now im having ads between each post, words being links to ads, ads at the top of the forum, and a pop up ad in the bottom right corner....


but i think theres a chance it has something to do with photo bucket because its doing it too. here's some new screenshots....






oh and for some reason the forum table was distorted







and photobucket's top ad, having the same type of ad here too





this is getting really annoying. it doesnt do this to me on any other site besides these two. i frequent deviant art, facebook, smosh, hotmail, various manga reading sites (if you cant figure that out by my toolbar lol)... but its just this forum and photobucket thus far

Try downloading AdBlock. It is amazing. It gets rid of all ads on websites. Even YouTube ads. I use Chrome too.

well it started doing it to deviant art as well now and regular google. :/


i'm gonna install firefox and see if there's a difference. this is ridiculous... its making me not even want to visit my normal sites because i have to close 3-6 different ad windows each flipping time!


i dunno if im just getting irritable from hormones or if the ads are really ticking me off that much but sheesh this is getting reallllllly annoying super fast. someone better have some answers for me (no one here, i'm talking about someone on google or even my internet provider, because this should not be going on.... grrrr)

okay looks like some digging around has a lead....


YAC virus and media player ad extension virus... even though my scan came back clean.... yay... time to have fun removing the stubborn things :/ YAC is GONE already, but having some issues getting rid of media player 1.1 lol

thanks everyone for your patience, looks like the problem WASNT a forum problem, thankfully. means everyone else wont be having the same frustrations i just did... geez lol


but it was the media player 1.1 virus and YAC virus causing it, though neither one of those things showed up on the scan.


i have a nice clean screen now!! on all sites!
