Rosie doesn't bite me all that hard (it can still hurt sometimes) but she tends to get my step dad really good. Last time she nearly pierced the top of his ear, ever since then he's been a little afraid of her and no longer holds her. Before that she had given him a few good bites on his hand. Galahs can bite very hard but it doesn't mean they will, I know some people get bitten to the bone of their finger.Aha! Don't think Galahs won't bite! My sister had her ear and her lip pierced by one of Dad's Galahs (not Dominic). He put the bird on her shoulder and said 'Go on... kiss her'. Instead of kissing, the bird went chomp-chomp-chomp. I have to be honest and say I was quite chuffed. At that time, my sister and I didn't get along very well. We do now, though. LOL!
My dream bird would be a Golden Conure/Queen of Bavaria conure. They have really awesome personalities being very affectionate, smart and for me they have a similar personality of the Noble macaw. They are the right size and they are beautiful.
This is a bird I would probably never have the opportunity to have because they are endangered and for me to get one I need a permit. From what I understand the permit is only issues for people to are propagating the species (breeders) and a permit would not be issued for a companion bird (pet status). Like I did when I got my Illiger's macaw Diego I was able to get one because I wanted a male and for Illiger's they hatch out more males than females.
Maybe someday I would find away to get a GC but for now I do not think this would ever happen.
The Illigers are precious! Hahn's are cute too! Don't even get me started on GCC's! YOU have got a very cute flock!
