Wow everyone. Never thought this thread would get so responses. Everyone has interesting tastes in birds!

I don't think i have a particular type of bird i've always wanted. I mean, they're all amazing! couldn't pick just one :p
I'd just love any type of bird thats tame and friendly really :) They're all so lovely looking

I forgot to add Galah.I think they are the prettiest of the cockatoos and they look sweet.Dont know if they have the same reputation as larger toos.Im afraid of the big ones.I had a friend who had to get stitches in her face from her fathers too.

Aha! Don't think Galahs won't bite! My sister had her ear and her lip pierced by one of Dad's Galahs (not Dominic). He put the bird on her shoulder and said 'Go on... kiss her'. Instead of kissing, the bird went chomp-chomp-chomp. I have to be honest and say I was quite chuffed. At that time, my sister and I didn't get along very well. We do now, though. LOL!

Rosie doesn't bite me all that hard (it can still hurt sometimes) but she tends to get my step dad really good. Last time she nearly pierced the top of his ear, ever since then he's been a little afraid of her and no longer holds her. Before that she had given him a few good bites on his hand. Galahs can bite very hard but it doesn't mean they will, I know some people get bitten to the bone of their finger.

i have a friend who lost their thumb due to his hyacinth macaw...just...playing

Definitely a raven!! I found a good breeder but they aren't cheap and well now I've got my hands full...maybe one day if I hit the lotto ;-)

Well for birds of prey I think goshawks look evil, I'd love to own one, Harris hawks to. Would be great flying 3-4 together.

As for parrots... Hyacinth macaw.. Beak sizes don't really bother me. Kaka's look amazing too. To many more to list that I'd like to own.

Mine would definitely be a Kookaburra :) they are my all time favorite bird.. and their call is the most amazing sound I've ever heard a bird make! If you've never heard it, look it up!

A kiwi would be 2nd on my list!

Because I want what I cannot have.

Hyacinth macaw--- I LOVE these birds. They have it all, size, beauty and personality. They also have the price tag.

Black palm cockatoo-- again, great personality, unique, beautiful.... Priceyyy

Toco Toucan - again, an amazing bird (yes not a parrot but still, these are my top three).

I also want a hawk head. I hear they are like caiques. I like caiques.

I thought my Hawkhead would be like a caique a little too [cause Ive read that ]. But Dave and I would describe her more like a TOO [in a good way] Shes very loving and likes her attention.

My dream bird would be a Golden Conure/Queen of Bavaria conure. They have really awesome personalities being very affectionate, smart and for me they have a similar personality of the Noble macaw. They are the right size and they are beautiful.

This is a bird I would probably never have the opportunity to have because they are endangered and for me to get one I need a permit. From what I understand the permit is only issues for people to are propagating the species (breeders) and a permit would not be issued for a companion bird (pet status). Like I did when I got my Illiger's macaw Diego I was able to get one because I wanted a male and for Illiger's they hatch out more males than females.

Maybe someday I would find away to get a GC but for now I do not think this would ever happen.

i think mine would be any amazon, but particularly the lilac crowned :D

Golden conures are very beautiful and I can see why you like them. The ones I seen for sale are pretty expensive. I will say Macaws are my dream birds. In a way I am already living my dream birds. I love green cheek conures, and a hahns macaw will be coming into my home soon. If I ever got more settled and found someone that also liked macaws maybe a Illigers macaw would be a nice bird to add (I think they a cute).

The Illigers are precious! Hahn's are cute too! Don't even get me started on GCC's! YOU have got a very cute flock!

A Jardine's, Red bellied or an Alexandrine! Or a Mealy Amazon.
I just love them, especially the Pois, but a Mealy is probably my biggest dream. :)

My favourite poi is definitely the Niam-Niam or the Ruppell's. Cool choices!

Thank you. Yes, Illigers are precious and Hahns are cute. I am fond of green cheek conures. I have set my limit on two birds. As much as I find Illigers macaws interesting I best make sure I can be able to spend time with my birds in my house and not get too many. Sometime in the future I will make time to post pics and updates on my Hahns macaw.
