What does this sound mean?

So every time I scratch the bird s/he makes kinda high pitch low volume sound, it's like a peeping sound is the best way I can describe it. What does it mean? Is it just a baby sound? S/he likes getting head scratches they will just sit and let me do it as long as I want. Any ideas??? Thanks for any input. This is my first tiel and I want to know as much as I can learn so I can provide the best for this sweet birds friend.

Usually when scratching their heads, especially with the smaller birds, they have a tendency to do the " Happy" chirping or peeps. My Grey dose this as well when My wife scratches his head. Gets all laid back doing these little peeps.

My Budgie dose same thing, wants chin under beak rubbed and chirps as I do it. It's just a happy content chirp.

But to be absolutely certain, we need to hear what your bird sounds like
with a clip. You can up load it to You tube then provide a link to it in a post on this site.

Sorry, I'm not very good with computers. I took the video last night, I didn't know you had to go through youtube to post a video on here... makes sense though, I had never uploaded a video to YouTube in my life, so it was a learning experience.... lol. Anyway, thanks again guys....

Try loading it again. Once you've loaded it to YouTube, go to your profile, then Your Videos. Here's a screen shot of mine:



Click on the video then you will see in the top, right corner of the video an arrow pointing right. Click on it, them click Copy Link. Then post that link in your thread by pasting it.

Nah, your video is listed as private. You need to change your preferences so others can see it. I personally set mine so that my videos can only be seen by anyone who's been given the link. Unlisted, basically.

It may be a happy sound because it looks your baby enjoys it. My Buddy purrs when I stritch his head,check and cheek bones. Cheek bones get a total relaxed shut down, eyes closed, lol. Venus is learning that head scritches are nice. She's quiet but falls forward landing on her beak, mainly on my arm and clothes her eyes. Husband saw this and thought Venus passed out, lol. She was just very relaxed. All fids are different and have unique behaviors. Yours looks like a good interaction, definitely positive.

I'm glad it's a good sound. S/he has gotten a bit nippy at times. S/ he will be sitting on my hand by choice, then reach down and bite. Not breaking skin, but it still hurts. How do I make that stop?
