Yup....in their teens is when the Big Macs "usually" start being successful.

As for the crouching, the female's "position" is LOWER than the male's. I have witnessed this myself when watching Hys mate (successfully....it resulted in a single FERTILE egg.

LOLOLOLOL. Yes, I really, truly did - by PURE accident. I was visiting Hunter (my YN Amazon) when she was still a baby, and Ginger, my GF had left a note on the door for me to come in and meet her in the Bird Barn.

When I walked in there Ginger was ALL flabbergasted and hushed me...pointing into the direction of her Hys' breeding pair. As "naive" as I was, I said "What are they DOING???" And she said "Making babies!"

It was an incredible and unforgettable experience. I literally walked out of there backwards. Yes, Ginger ended up with her first (but not last) Hy baby. Her first one stayed with the parents for 3 weeks. After that the male started EATING the egg(s). The hen usually laid 1, but sometimes 2 eggs.

Zaf shouldn't be jealous at all. That pair of Hys was stunning, but Zaf is nicer!
