Hi everyone, I thought I would put a feeler out here before I bite the bullet and buy a new one on EBay. Also could use some advice on the size harness I should buy, as their suggestions per species seem a bit off to me.
I just adopted a baby Senegal parrot, who is going on 5 months old now and just recently weaned. I don't know the sex yet, waiting for the vet's DNA test results, but I'm guessing Kane is a boy based on his size already. I want to start harness training immediately, he is very tame and I don't anticipate a problem, but the sooner the better. According to the Aviator Harness instructions, a Senegal should take size x-small (extra small), along with large Quakers, pionus, etc...but I also have a large adult, male Quaker, who is a year and a half old, and Kane the Senegal already dwarfs my adult Quaker at 4 and a half months...so I'm not sure if I should get an extra small or a small, because the small says it's for Amazons and larger, and Kane is and obviously will not be close to Amazon size, unless we're talking a miniature one...so anyone that has a Senegal that they use an aviator harness with, please offer advice and suggestions on size...also, my Quaker is harness trained, but his harness is not an Aviator Harness but a generic brand I got on eBay and I hate it, and obviously sizes don't compare...
So yeah, if anyone has an Aviator Harness and leash (ONLY AN AVIATOR BRAND HARNESS) that will fit a Senegal parrot for sale, I'm a buyer...color makes not difference to me.
Thanks in advance!
