Re: All Video's - Birds Talking - Playing - Singing - Acting
Mike you mentioned
she mumbles sometimes.. but when I work with her she just stares at me and does not say anything. Abby is too busy listening to you, she is absorbing each and every word you say.
When I became Mishka's guardian, she was 6 weeks old. For the first 4 months, she was with me 24/7, going everywhere, even on deliveries, sitting quietly in my office, watching me shower, cooking, cleaning, EVERYWHERE (ops not the loo of course)
I have verbal diarrhea 24/7. I spoke to her ALL THE TIME.
I recall saying to my guys Mishka is never going to talk, she was then 3 months old. I remember begging her to just say one word honestly.
For one entire day, I said to her hello love you, every minute of that day. That day I accepted that I have an bird that will never talk, and will love her no matter what. I thought if she has not said one word by now, after all my talking and talking she never will talk. All she did was mumble and chirp, all day long.
That same day I potty trained her in one afternoon. I was so excited, such a big step for such a small bird. Later that night, she was sitting on my lap, and I "thought" I heard her say ello. OMG I screamed to my guys did you hear that, mom it's your imagination they told me. I repeated hello love you for an hour that night. She never uttered another sound that night.
The following morning I was was greeted with the most beautiful ello uf u
I will never ever forget that moment. I then recorded her on my cell, to prove to my guys that she was starting to speak. From that night onwards, Mishka sits on my lap for an hour and we chat and chat and chat.
Since that day she has not stopped talking.
Don't ever give up, Mishka is living proof, it takes time many many hours, loads of patience and perseverance, each and every day.
Ant and Lisa... I am so jealous... Abby just jabbers... she mumbles sometimes.. but when I work with her she just stares at me and does not say anything..
