Aww, this is very similar to what Maui and KiKi were doing this evening. Maui is my 13 week old CAG and KiKi is my 10 week old Sun Conure. KiKi was desperately trying to get underneath Maui, wanting Maui to wrap his wings around her. She was also preening him, kissing him and trying to get him to feed her. LOL... Maui didn't quite know what to make of her (We just brought her home Friday) but was kissing and preening her back, he just didn't want her to get under him. LOL... It was priceless to see how they interacted with each other and look very similar to what you're babies are doing in this video. PRECIOUS!

i read what maui and kiki were doing and i thought its the same as what willow does to mossy. sounds like kiki has a new BFF! x

A video I took of KiKi and Maui today, I took the video with my crappy cell phone, so the quality isn't all that great, but the content is adorable!!

Maui my 13 week old CAG and KiKi my 10 week old Sun Conure, this is just their second day together getting acquainted. KiKi insists on trying to get Maui to feed her and Maui insists that he'd like a scratch on the head from her. Neither of which are happening, LOL. But, they are very adorable with each other. Maui isn't quite sure what KiKi is trying to do when she's pounding against his beek with hers, or desperately trying to crawl underneath him for security, but he tolerates her very well for being such a baby himself.

Thanks!!! I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Watching those two is precious at times. Maui has done an amazing job at dealing with her. She is too sweet too. Maui has learned SO much in the past couple of weeks, he just chatters away.

Yes, I'm afraid KiKi DOES think that Maui is a parental figure, Maui doesn't quite know what to think about it either, since he's looking to her for some of the same type affection, LOL.. But, they do get along beautifully, Maui has been pulling away from me more and more lately as he finds and explores his freedom. I generally don't "push" him to spend time with me, but, he does seek security from me when there are unfamiliars going on. IE... car ride, new faces, new places, new things, etc... I just allow him to come to me when he WANTS to. I do spend alone time with him every day, however, talking to him a lot. I sing him a lullabye every night at bed time too.

I have a ball watching these two, they're so cute!! And seem to like each other almost instantly, which I can't say the same about my Mom's budgies, Maui is NOT a fan of them at ALL. It was sad really that he just didn't like them, so it's nice to see that he DOES like other birds, just not all.

It's amazing, how much they are similar to human kids, getting security from mommy. Soon you will have two birds talking, the more Maui is chirping and mumbling KiKIKi will soon start imitating him.

Yes, he is picking up things constantly, the sound of my front door, the cat's meow, the "come here" whistle, the "wolf whistle" to name a few. I heard him today beep like our answering machine and what SOUNDED like a VERY raspy "Hello". LOL... I know sometimes it's wishful thinking, but, he does shock us with little things here and there with the sounds he's learned.
I keep thinking he's a smart little guy, but then again, it may ALL be normal progression, it's not like I have another baby grey to compare his accomplishments to.

A Homemade Toy

This is a short video of my Lovies playing on a homemade toy. It was made from drinking straws, a cat toy ball and grosgrain ribbon. The video was made a few months ago. They actually would swing and twist like crazy on it and of course chew on the straws. I need to make another one. I only put it up occasionally so they didn't tire of it. It was so fun to watch them play on it and even squabble over it!
