I just picked up a Hahns Macaw(and Jenday) I know about Jendays but I have never had or been around a Hahns. I have a B&G macaw but this little 1 is so different. Can u all tell me about ur Hahns Macaws? This was not really planned or I would have done more Hahns research. Thanks everyone.

Little info on her, (I don't have pics. yet sorry)
about 5 years old
female
loves my husband but not me yet
Her name is Derby
Eating Zupreem but not other things(yet) lol

That little Hahn's thinks it is as big as your B&G & has an attitude to match (or can), just think of it as a Mac & proceed accordingly (behavior/training wise). As with all rehomes, a LOT of patience and spend time sitting next to the cage & talking to her.

Our Hahn's was our first & had NO qualms about attacking a GW (and will still try) But I DID try introducing them.

I can only comment on mine which is still a young bird. My guy is calm and quiet most of the time unless I have ignored his routine out of cage time. He is very playful and surprisingly independent.

What elsE did you want to know?

medium bird big bird attitude But they can be soooo sweet I knew a hand raised baby who would ask "What a doing?" and if you walked by carrying a vaccum he'd cange it to "What a doing Vacumming ?"he was such a sweety. Someone with better information will be along soon I'm sure.

I looked into Hahns. If I knew of one that was good with kids I'd totally consider rehoming one!

I have other rehomes so I know the patience thing. I just wanted to know if they r cuddly, hard on toys, loud, maybe fav, kind of toy (i know it is different for all but I know most my IRN love to shread) Also any good Hahns Macaw books? I have over 100 bird books but didn't know if someone found a good book just on the Hahns or that has good info in on them?

Mine is only a baby but for the most part he's quiet unless i walk away or he doesn't get enough attention. He likes his fruits and veggies a lot! Just talk to her and reassure everything going to be fine :)

My hahn's is a little Diva. She can be cuddly, and have a major attitude.

I occasionally take her to my job and she participates in pet therapy day. she loves the attention.
