Thoughts on taking my cockatiel to some pet stores to get some toys and treats?

Likely that the OP lives in the Southeastern region of Alaska which is heavily effected by the ocean currents and storms that can greatly effect weather (temperature) in that region. But the question is excellent as the temperature is still likely to cool on most days.

Tiels on wheels. Munchkin loves travelling even if it's just down to the store. I bought some really cheap tee shirts & sewed them across neck, slit it down the left side with a couple of bits of velcro so it goes over the passenger seat and doesn't foul the air bag. I also bought 2 metres of tee shirt material cut it in half and then cut a whole in the middle. Whoever is the passenger gets to wear it. All are easily washable and protects the seat covers in my 4wd and the leather seats in the hubbies. She sits on the top of the seat and sleeps, preens, stares out, wanders around, and does a great are we there yet call.
Also knows when we turn the corner of our street, with a different call.

Are you sure it’s a good idea to bring your bird outside in Alaska in January? Won’t it be incredibly cold?

Maybe I’m confused but I live in the upper Midwest and I wouldn’t take my bird outside unless I had to.
I don't plan on doing this until mid-May or early June as its snowy until early may but I predict snow until Mid may this year. Satan's cooler would decimate him if he went even 3 seconds out there.

that sounds magnificent! Rico would be angry at the mere existence of ravens and eagles. he is used to seeing cars but idk how he would react to trucks. doesn't your bird ever get stressed from these trips? if so, do you have any tips? also, have you ever dealt with car sickness with Julio?
My baby budgie Rocky took his first 8 hour road trip at only 7 weeks old and he loved it! He had just weaned at 6.5 weeks and we brought him to meet my elderly parents for Christmas. Nothing fazes Rocky- he's one tough Yankee budgie..
