none at the moment.
hello after the death of my previous birds ive been looking into macaws as ive always had a love for them and was wondering from macaw enthusiasts which species of the large macaws would be the easiest to own (like the one with the best average temperament)

im aware macaws in general are very difficult birds to own and one persons experience with a certain macaw subspecies may be very different from others as they are individual birds. Im curious as to in general what the easiest to one would be.
thank you

I would suggest a blue and gold macaw. I'm not expert by any means but I can tell you that they are unlike any pet you've ever owned. I owned a blue and gold macaw for 20 yrs and lost him to cancer. It was the hardest thing I've ever dealt with. I would have died for that bird, if he said give me kisses, he was coming up your arm to get kisses, look around the door at him and he would say Boo. they are very special animals. I just recently got another one that is 21 yrs old (owner has cancer and could not take care of him) The bird I have now has a massive vocabulary, I never seen A b&g that could talk like this one. they are fun , lovable, but it is like taking care of a 3 yo for the rest of your life. Good luck I hope you find the right one.

thank you so much this is really good info!
B&Gs are my all time favourite in the macaw world, they are just so loveable.
i may not have a lot of experience with large parrots but am 100% willing to put in the effort and time for a lifetime companion, do you think that could work?
