This is Perjo

Perjo is a handsome boy. instead of a perch for my scale I used this .50 cent chew hut thing for hamsters and stuff works great. I just used Timnehs favorite treat a grape and led her onto it. Now she hops on no problem.

Perjo likes the accompanying harmonica in the background. I would have thought such a sound would not be to her liking, but she seems to get quite vocal when she hears it. The TV in background is distracting but you can hear her doing the Andy Griffith song.

It's just audio no video.

She struggles to get a deep enough tone to do her lion's roar, but she likes doing the big long wet kiss sound.

I have read this thread with great interest and have enjoyed seeing Perjo's development. We have a 3-month old CAG which we've had for 3 weeks and still hand feeding. He's already mimicked our wolf whistle which is quite exciting for us! Your thread is giving us a timeline of what we might expect from Mango.

Feathers were sent out for DNA testing to see if he's a he or he's a she. We should now soon. :)

I'm glad to hear this thread is of use or offers any inspiration. As you'll seen find out, catching them at their best moments is difficult. She can really get into groove with her vocalizations, I just struggle to get it on video usually.

I'm planning on getting one of those Nest wireless thermostat home video set up thingies or a competitors. It offers so much technolgoy at your finger tips and allows you to view and record things in your home when you're not there. I think that is the way to go to capture these wonderful birds at their best.

Not a bad idea. I think most of those devices have ultra wide angle lenses though. I'm a photographer nerd and might look into a way to remotely control a video camera for things like this.

Perjo has been home with me for one full year. Amazing year it was. I have zero regrets about choosing a CAG and picking her, or her picking me that day at the breeder.
