My Smokey became very mobile..she would wallk down the halls into the kitchen all by herself. A lot of times she'd be on her roof top and I'd be in the kitchen and I would hear HELLOOO??HELLOOOO?? looking for me...she'd knock on the door leading into a bedroom.

I cant remember how many times I'd find her behind my bedroom door,where a full sized mirror is,and she'd be banging on it talking to the "other" bird lol...sighhhh smokey girl..

Perjo has really hit a stride this past week, as she turned 9 mo. She has learned a handful of new whistles in less than a day's time. She busted them out to my surprise when I wasn't expecting. The thing that gets me is how she incorporates parts of different whistles into other whistles. Basically improvisation on the spot. I wonder if they consciously do this, or if it is totally random and uncontrolled? You can hear a bit of it here.

Perjo mid morning routine, trying some of her new stuff. You can hear bits and pieces of the AG song, and her half ass attempt at the Transformer sound.

OMG, this girl is killing me. She's really coming into herself. She's busting out about 6-7 notes of the AG tune at a time, different parts of the song, in different orders. Then she incorporates some of those little pieces into her other whistles.

Then she climbs down her cage and climbs up onto my couch as I watch TV and check my emails on my laptop, and next thing I know she's sitting behind my head on the couch. And she did all that without making a peep.

Then when I realize she's there, she does what I consider her version of laughing. Then does her "charge" whistle and flies onto the coffee table.

Unbelievable.

Happy birthday Perjo!

One year old today, and what a 9 months of being a first time owner of a parrot. So lucky that she has not only been a really really good bird in every way possible, I'm lucky to have had virtually nothing truly scary happen. She eats most of the food I put in front of her, she's usually making noise and being vocal, to me that equates to a happy and healthy CAG.

I'm gonna make her some birdie bread later today or tomorrow for the first time.

OMG I am smiling and laughing my face off right now. Perjo started whistling the AG song, she did the first part and stopped, I immediately jumped in and did the next part and stopped, she picked up the next part right away then I started the finish and she finished it off with a very low tone sound imitating the final guitar strum in the song.

When we were done I said "very good Perjo, we did it" and she laughed "ra ra ra ra ra".

The leaps and bounds they make are amazing, and some of them not so sublte. Just this week she started preening my face and neck, and is very interested in my beard, and she does it so gently, as if she knows to be gentle around the face.

So awesome Your Cag is already as big as my TAG. Living vicariously as I just brough tmy Timneh home last week but already 1 and 1/2.
