KIWIBIRD, is that you Hillary?...I think the edit button is for grammatical errors and not to be used like a time machine. Editing the past inhibits effective communication.

That is just flat out rude. Why are you on this site ? To bolster your ego ? You are insulting a very nice person that only tries to help .

GMO is a topic I am passionate about and it would be great to have a NICE conversation around this topic however your way of gaining friends and influencing people is frankly offensive. Please step down from the soap box and lets discuss this as adults. It COULD be a great informative topic but right now it is fast circling the drain.:(

Well said, Laura! :)

Remember, we can all have this conversation WITHOUT the OP. :54:

Still, waiting for Zupreem and Roudybush to get back to me on the longterm studies done with GMO corn being fed to animals longer than 90 days. Hmmm, how long do parrots live?

Well, dude, not to burst your bubble, but my oldest bird is now 43, and has been fed zupreme, plus fresh nuts, fruits and veggies, plus a tiny bit of seed.

She's had regular well birdie exams, and has always come back with perfect lab work. So, while that doesn't count as an official study, it does tell me that my bird's health is fine feeding her what I've been feeding her.

NO PELLETS ALONE IS NOT THE ANSWER. PELLETS, PLUS OTHER STUFF...

But I do feed pellets. And my bird does not appear to be dying...

I am sensing there may be some trolling going on here. I think perhaps no more responses to this thread might be the way to go. We can always start a new topic with a more neutral heading and discuss this same issue without the "bad start."

BINGO!!! :D ...and see my above post. I can always change the title, too, and this can be continued in a civil manner.

Ya, it's me Hilary, best head for your bunker before the CIA comes for you (or worse, my VERY protective amazon:green:)! Guess you *totally* blew my cover though, and after several years of consistently posting on this forum. Dang, just when I had infiltrated a parrot forum for purposes of "evil" (well, parrots can be weaponized lol for purposes of chewing wood and chomping fingers:D).

P.S. I'll use the edit button however I see fit to edit my posts and am not intimidated by a (oh OPs, why must I mind my language here?) like you!

Such a shame, a very good topic, GMO, but! FYI, in my younger days I used to get on the soapbox so often, folks would tune me out immediately! To my shame, when I registered for the draft (60's) I wrote things that will keep me from ever becoming President!

And with the elections coming up, you must be heart broken! I, too, had that tendency in my younger years, but my rants mostly assured that I would never be chosen as a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding.

So THAT'S what I had to do to get out of buying 5 of the ugliest bridesmaid dresses in my lifetime thus far....had I only known!:(:p

No.

But my parrot has. And she eats Zupreme.

And, I'm kinda done with this discussion now. You lost me with the tone of your post...

Oh come on, Mark, you know it's your mild, carefree spirit that we all love about you, Birdman:smile039::smile039::smile039:, I mean, uh,:angel::angel:.

Shame. I'd love to see a parrot owner in the Whitehouse, since any good bird owner has to have leadership skills, patience, compassion and a thick skin:42::green2::42:

I too used to be a lot more 'preachy' about things I'm passionate about. It always inspired anger and being labeled a "tree hugger" or "conspiracy theorist" (depending) instead of people informing themselves and/or creating actual change. I never lost my desire to do my part, but now I try to find different methods people respond more favorably to, like leading by example, being respectful and promoting merits of alternatives.

(Just to lighten the mood on this thread, this always makes me laugh:))

I'm an opinionated <angel????>...

Have been for most of my life, since I learned to form my own opinion about things. (Before that, I was just <angelic?????>! So, at least now, there's a reason.) :32:

P.S. Wendy said angel. I would NEVER promote myself as such.

Even TUSK sometimes reminds me to "quit being an......"

Kids, you shouldn't use words like that! It'll get your mouth washed out with soap.
