*eye twitches* The birds and my 4 month old son suddenly teamed up a week ago and decided that I shall be woken up without fail every morning at 6am if not earlier... and my son fills out his little part in the plot by pretending he wants his dummy and wants to sleep, but then just spits the dummy out every 30 seconds or so forcing me to get up, again, out of bed... Urrgghhhh I cannot wait until he's older and doesn't rely on his dummy so much! He is not very skilled at sucking a dummy... >.> never has been very good as sucking his bottle either.. *melts into frustrated pool of tiredness*

WHY!? The past 3 days have been the worst... new Eclectus suddenly deciding she'll screech her head off at 6am, and just before that my son decides he'll cry and carry on because he wants his dummy... but it's in his mouth.. so I have to get up take it out, then put it back in his mouth. And oh my goodness this is driving me nuts! He usually sleeps through the night and doesn't wake up until 9:30am or until I wake him up often at 8:30am...

*eyes twitch majorly*

And it doesn't matter what time I get to bed/what time he's fed.. whether it's 9:30pm, or 12:30am.. he still keeps waking up at the same time in the morning! *goes insane*

It is NOT pleasant to be woken by the sound of 3 Eclectus screeching like mad, 4 Green Cheek Conures screaming, 6 Kakarikis going nuts and 2 Scarlet Chested Parakeets (though they aren't bad compared to the others). Honestly, the Green Cheeks make the most annoying and loudest screeches... *eye twitches again* and they have food, and water, and there's no other birds around.. it.does.not.make.sense.

Er - Kinny - ? You left out the partridge in the pear tree...

Do you cover your cages? If not, it might be worth it just for a few weeks? Do you think the birds might be waking the baby? If so, try hanging a thick blanket over his door to muffle the sound. Or over yours even? As a last resort, get some earplugs and use those after you've settled the baby with his dummy. Don't worry. In a few weeks, your baby will be sleeping longer and you'll be able to ignore the birds' shrieking for a while. Smile! It's all good! :D :D :D

It does get better.... Just breathe! And sleep when the baby does during the day- housework and washing will wait. Trust me, sleep at EVERY opportunity. If you have had enough sleep, you can handle anything! The first bub is the leaning curve, it's easier second and third time around... Was for me anyway!
I agree with Betrisher, try covering the cage if you haven't already!
