- I am the proud owner of a Dusky Pionus, An African Grey, A Mullocan Cockatoo, A a Blue and Gold Macaw
I have been blessed to adopt a B&G from a lady who was too stressed out to "deal" with her...I was told she was loud, very agressive, and had been locked into a cage with another bird (a U2) for many months. The cage was small and unclean, her foods were not fresh, and the room she was kept in was infested with gnats. When I saw her she looked pitiful, sad and unkept. And on top of it all had a severe case of scissor beak. I have had her now for about 3 weeks and she is truly adjusting well. No aggression. Has been uncaged during the day for most of the time here. Eating well, fresh fruits and veggies, seed, nuts and a various array of snacks. I have never had a macaw before so I am asking for any information or advice you can give me that would help me care for her better!
