Hey everyone!
Its been quite some time since I posted here, but I just thought I'd give you all an update on my little neotropical pigeon.
I had to find him a new avian vet and it wasn't easy to do. I stopped going to his original avian vet and took him to a non-avian vet who does see birds but is not specially trained. She trimmed his beak and nails, but she didn't do that thorough of a job, which is probably for the best.
I found a certified avian vet about 30 minutes away and had scheduled to take him in back in February, but my ride cancelled last minute. I was finally able to get him in last month and get him some trims. The vet said that Skittles is in "ideal health" and that he never would've guessed that Skittles was 14 y/o.
He is doing wonderfully.
I'm enclosing a few pictures. One is of him from back in December (longer beak), the other one is from about two weeks ago (after his vet trim).
