Normally my b&g hangs out on the shower curtain rod while I shower. It's that or cage him while I shower.

Well the other day he made his way down the curtain and joined me..... Perfectly fine except for SOAP!

I know many shower with their birds but what about the soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and all that stuff?

I have a standard shower size, no bird perch in my shower. I use a different shower for bird baths. So average size person, average size shower/tub combo and one big ol macaw flapping away singing his party song.

I did everytng I could to avoid getting the shampoos I was currently in mid use with getting on him, but next time? I would hate to cut my showers short but now he knows he can join me.....

Any suggestions ?

Both my Macaws shower with me. Either one at a time, or both. I have awesome super fun Birdy shower time first, then remove them, and finish the rest of my (now boring) shower. You can make a lightweight perch out of PVC that you can use in the shower, or buy a shower perch. We have a PVC one, and one that we just screw on to the wire shower rack.

I let them shower first and place them on my shower door. After shampooing and washing my face I give them the opportunity to get under the water again. Usually this is enough but sometimes when I'm done they go in for a 3rd time. Lol No soap issues.
