I hope this is the right place for the post lol. I wasnt sure if I should put it under Pois or here.
Anyhow, I had posted IT BIT ME on Wednesday, the day I brought her home.
Last night, Hubby came home again and I got her out. After I got her out of the cage I was walking with her and supporting her feet (like always) (always as in day 2 lol!) and she bent down and bit my pinky. This time, I did say OWW! It hurt! It didnt break the skin but it surprised me. I think when she was on my shoulder I was cautious about her biting my ear but when she was on my finger, I wasnt expecting it.
Anyhow, I sat down with her and she kept trying to climb me and she was trying to pull up on my shirt with her mouth (like usual) but this time she was biting down harder and she kept getting skin under the shirt and pinching it. When I would put her back on my hand she would bite my hand. So, I just put her in the cage and covered it for the night. The other thing I noticed is when he is here she wont step up. She steps up for me all day long but when he gets home, she refuses.
I realize it is day two. My thoughts are either its my husband being home OR its the time of day. Maybe at 7pm in the evening she is tired. Especially since we are up by 530am. She will let my husband pet her she doesnt try to get away or bite him. Maybe she WANTS him and that is why she is biting on me to get away? But she is trying to climb me. IDK!
This morning just like the past two days! PERFECT ANGEL! This bird could not be any better!
MY HUSBAND MUST THINK I AM LYING ABOUT THIS BIRD LOL! He has yet to see this "perfect angel" I speak of to him.
Any ideas or suggestions as to why she may be doing this?

1. All Sennie's have 'tude. They can be very opinionated about things. They express those opinions with their beaks.

2. Most Sennie's come with a middle name: Sybil.

3. They can also become grouchy when tired.

4. They can be quite territorial about favorite objects at times. "That's mine."

5. If birds evolved from reptiles, then Sennies must be closely related to snapping turtles...

I've always thought of them as Caiques WITH A DARK SIDE... :)

He might just need an earlier bedtime.

#2 made me spit coffee out of my nose!
#5 is what I said the other day myself lol

My first guess would be that it's past baby's bedtime if you're getting up at 5:30. Mine are all happy to be covered 12 hours a night. If they're out after bedtime it's only to snuggle not play.

I agree with Mark. I have 2 sennies and I love them, but they can be little devils about certain things... Like going to bed.

I just wanted to say that Marks comments still make me laugh....
Also, since making sure I put Gollum Jekyll in her cage and covered BEFORE 7pm, I have had no further evening appearances of Gollum Hyde. (I told my husband its like having a Gizmo that turns into a Gremlin... instead of feeding it after midnight, it is not covering it by 7pm!)
Anyhow the past couple weeks have been wonderful. She is being so much more gentle with her beak. Even when she is giving me a warning because I AM distracted with something, its not a hard bite. It is enough pressure to get my attention but doesnt hurt. She is snuggling against my neck and cheek (I realize that one day I may get a bite... but the snuggles are SO WORTH IT!!!) I had been doing the shower in the sink. Yesterday I took her in the shower with me, I did not put her under the water, I just brought her in there, put her on the perch to watch. She was overwhelmed, I admit. I also have not worked with the harness at all. I have it sitting out beside me on the desk, she goes to chew on it every now and then. I kind of rub it against her, like petting her with it to try and get her use to it.
Thank you all again for all of your help and advice.... on this post and my collection of others lol

Yeah they do get tired....so try and get her to bed with the sun going to bed. One thing you can try though is the hand roll. When she's sitting on your hand and goes to bite, just roll your hand either forward or backward a little. Not a lit but just enough to get her off balance. They don't like being off balance so it stops the behavior. I would do this with rio with a stern no biotech and it worked for me.

I jinxed it. I will never say how good she is again. She loves making a liar out of her parront! Its like she knows what I post... sneaky.
Woke up to miss nippy this morning... sighs, oh well
