So I'm at Petco today picking up pellets for my GCCs & of course I have to look at everything before I even shop for what I actually showed up for.
The first budgie that caught my eye was an all white one. Tiny little baby. So adorable, but then I saw a color, which Idk if it's actually considered rare or not but I had never seen before. I did my research & I'm figuring out she's a yellowface clear budgie.

I'll link to where I found this out Budgie / Parakeet Colors and Mutations Guide

this page explains the yellowface
Yellowface - The Budgie & Parakeet Place Colors and Mutations Guide

and this here explains the clear part of it
Budgie / Parakeet Colors and Mutations Guide

So she's basically yellow/greenish/blue that all blends together, really cool looking with NO black on her at all. No stripes no cheek markings nothing.
She was so beautiful.

If I end up buying her I'll post pics & you'll see what I'm talkin about ^_^

I also have a question: how long is the quarantine period again? 2 months?
Uhg. Hate quarantines but it's gotta be done /:

I haven't had budgies in a long time I'm kinda excited for this possibility. I'm just kinda deciding in my head if I really should get another one. Of course the answer if I ask anyone in my house is a **** no but who really cares what they think right??? haha

Can't wait to see pics! ;-)
Going by those pages, I have a yellowface type 2 English Budgie, and green full body color greywing American.

I am thinking about building an outdoor aviary for budgies, I love all the colors.

those halfsided are incredable. If you want one of every coloryou better make it a big avaiary:D

I say get her! I am amazed how much I am enjoying my recent budgie addition. Even having a number of bigger "fancier" birds I am so drawn to my little Gryffin.

I can't wait for pics!

I personally would love a conure aviary ^_^ with all different green cheek colors <3
but the budgie mutations are also very pretty. I sort of get bored of seeing the same old green & blue ones but this little bird was something different. I've seen grey factors & white ones before but never one like her.

I'll be going to pick her up in abt half an hour. I'll either be quarantining her at a cousin's house who used to breed budgies or in my basement (it's a finished basement that's usually used by my brother for video gaming or for family get togethers & watching movies & such). I've read all different periods of time for the quarantine but I think 4-6 weeks was the one I saw the most so I'm going with that.

I'm excited but I've gotta go to work right after I get her so I won't have that much time with her today /:

Hopefully she's still at the store.
I'll keep you guys posted !

Good luck. Budgies are WONDERFUL. I adore them!!! I can't wait to see pics.

You will definitely have to post some pics! Have you thought of any names yet?

Doubt she's rare, but she sounds gorgeous!

There are three types of "clear" budgies, apparently... the Ino variety, the double factor spangle and the clear pieds (usually a combination of dominant and recessive pied mutations).

Can't wait to see pics!

Get her! You might not see another budgie like that again. Budgies are little clowns , some people are amazed that such a small, less expensive bird can bring so much joy to a household. Since its at petco you'll problely have to tame it . I gotmy 2 budgies frm petco and they had a extreme fear of hands. If you need any taming or training help just send me a message. Better post pics!

yes get her!! and show her to us

ooops didnt see the date of post, perhaps he didnt get her :(
