I've always heard the controversy about how after a while, the lights lose their "full" spectrum, and we can't tell at what point that is... where it just becomes a light bulb.
I'd imagine it's better than nothing though, even when the spectrum starts running out. If you go by the manufacturer guidelines on how msny hours to use, I'm sure it's fine. I might get some soon too.
I spoke with a electrician and was told its 75% of use SO its a guess he suggested every year replace. He also said they could be used in any lamp .
