Laurella Desborough is, IMO, the most knowledgeable Eclectus breeder in the U.S. Eclectus Parrots For Sale Eclectus Parrot Breeder Eclectus Babies

David also produces wonderful birds Eclectus parrots, Austral Aviary - Home and like Laurella is dedicated to keeping just Eclectus.

Yes, i already contacted Laurella, she does not have babies available, but will email me photos of older eclectus she has...Waiting for that email for the past two days, checking my e-mail every 2 seconds LOL

I think i emailed David before, but will try again :) he will think i am nuts :)))

Thank you!

David likes nuts. I don't know if he has any babies right now either. Patience!

I bought Jackie from Laurella. He was an adult, but she was not his breeder. People call on her all the time to take birds when they are desperate, or if a family member dies, etc. so she ends up with adults in addition to those she breeds since she is a good person.

Jackie had lived in her aviary for a while (years) and wowza what a specimen he is. If you buy an adult from Laurella you will get a gorgeous bird.

But, not all the adults she has are "pets". Jackie was a calm, gentle hfellow but he did not know about stepping up and was not ready for constant handling. I was looking for a companion for my Lucy and told Laurella I did not care if the bird she chose for me was hand tame.

Well, fast forward 2 years from when I bought Jackie to now, and he has become my shadow. He thinks he needs to be on me all the time and has decided he prefers my company by far over hanging with the other Eclectus. So much for my ideas of him and Lucy.

He is probably 10 years or older. His band does not show his hatch year. He does not talk except for a word that may be hello.

he is gorgeous! You are lucky to have him!

I talked with Laurella on the phone, and described her our situation (loud household, kids etc) and she said she has a bird that would fit us (or we would be a good fit) perfectly. But she didn't send the photos in yet...So i am not sure if she will....I am very impatient person and this wait is killlllllling me...oh, well...

She is very busy. In addition to her aviary she is very involved in monitoring legislation that affect aviculture.

You can send her an email with something like "reminder" in the subject line that will get her attention. I'm sure she is not putting you off.

If she has a bird that will fit your situation, go for it!

Ok, so now i have 2 birds to consider...One is adult from Laurella...But it is very hard communicating with such a busy person....I feel it might take months...I understand she has many things going on but i am not very good with waiting...

The other one is a baby from Lilly in TX...Looks very cute, will be ready on April 20th...Has anyone bought birds from her? Solomon Eclectus Parrots and Babies
