My new sun conure has been pooping out liquidly poop lately. It does not smell, the colors seem normal, its just the "green poop" part is runny as well. The person I bought him from gave him nothing but seeds and a few bananas his whole life i switched him to a fruitblend pellet diet and thats when I think I noticed the poop getting runnier, But im not sure, Since I only had him for a day or so before that.

Should I be concerned and take him to a vet or is this normal. I can take Pics of the poop too if anyone would like to see.

Have you been offering any fresh veggies or fruit - that can also make it runny. Check to see how much water he is drinking as that is also a big factor.

Also, to go along with Grinder's questions, if your sun is bathing in his water dish, dunking their heads & faces under water is much like our showering or swimming, where we ingest some water, only with our feathered friends, the result is usually watery presentations.....

My Georgie was obsessed with her water bowl and had watery poop way too often, to the point i thought she was ill, but it turns out, she was fine and she must have just ingested a LOT of water on many of her bathing episodes.
Maybe just observe the eating/drinking/bathing/pooping routine a little more closely for a while and see what you think. Their droppings can vary quite a bit even on what they just ate recently (one nasty runny poop and then more normal ones after that).

Take him off the dyed pellets and put him on dye-free pellets. See if that makes a difference.

It did with my conure. Also, diet changes and depending on what the bird eat also tends to change how their droppings appear.

Well today his poop seems normal again. I think he was not eating the pellets a lot and drinking water, like he did seeds. Now hes getting more used to them I believe. And it was solid today. He wont eat dye free pellets. Hes a fussy bird. Also I cant get him to eat veggies. He loves his bananas though.
