I appreciate your post, trust me I know why they name severe macaws severe I did my research... She's already bit the blood out of me and so has carlos, it don't even hurt me I'm used to physical pain. I know how to properly handle her, and I am socializing her with more than just me. I know she will and Carlos will have wacky hormones where they attack and bite, quite possibly a trip to the er for me... I know all this. I am ready for this. I also know severe macaws are the most rehomed macaws I know that, but jazzy is safe with me now she won't be rehomed.

I'll just say this and move on.

For them to have already drawn blood is not a good sign. You should learn to read your birds and handle them appropriately. Back off when they ask you to.

Every bird bites... Who says that because they bite that means they want to be left alone? Sometimes yes they do, but the majority of the time they love to play and wrestle. I think you're issue is you love to nitpick and cause trouble because you think you are miss or mr know it all... Hey I know how to read my birds body language I am not a dumb butt okay, forgive me but I have had it! Questioning me over silly crap. I can tell their body language just fine, ever heard of rough housing? love bites? Yea...

PS. If I was such a dumby like some *cough* insinuate or can't read bird body language then why is she a different bird since I brought her home? And before anyone says its a "honeymoon phase" hear me out! NOBODY wanted the poor bird, they said she was there pretty much her whole 9mo life! NOBODY wanted her because she would bite, only the employees could handle her and that was rare because she would always bite them! People staff and customers were shocked mouth dropped when I let her bite me as I began to whisper to her it was okay I won't be offended if she bites I am used to it, she then proceeded to look me over and step up. The lady employee said that she must like me she never steps up like that out of the blue. Now that I brought her home she has not bitten the blood like at the shop , she now reaches out her foot to me and says "step up" wanting me to hold her. She also says "hi and hello", she is my little baby. I know all about the phases they go through but I know my birds if anyone can "read body language" It is someone who is on the spectrum... I may not be able to socialize well with people, but I sure can with animals, I can read both human and animals body language In fact I read into it so much that I zone out and focus on their bodies more than their words.

So as for Jazzy, Carlos, and the rest of the gang they are doing fine, thanks for being so happy for me... chuckles.

Doublete is NOT nitpicking you.... You can play wrestle and rough house with your birds without getting bit-- you need to teach your birds acceptable bite pressure- it's called bite pressure training....you definitely need to work on this if they are biting you too hard while playing.

And I will agree~ every bird bites for a reason, but that doesn't mean we should be putting ourselves in the position to get bit. Study your birds' body language and if you "listen", you can greatly reduce your risk of getting bit.

They used to bite the blood, THEY DO NOT BITE THE BLOOD ANYMORE! I TRAIN THEM! I KNOW HOW TO TRAIN THEM!!!!!!! Can't you see why I am aggravated, everyone is telling me what I should or should not do with my money, I really appreciate the concerns but eventually it hurts when people keep telling you over and over, this isn't the first site that has expressed "concerns" over me acquiring animals, who's money is it? MMINE!

Wow. You need to settle down.

Everyone is just giving you advice- you're the one who's being EXTREMELY defensive!!

I didn't say anything about money or what you can or should do with it.

Let me do you a favor and close this thread....

Do you seriously want to go down THAT road?

Ok, I'll play....
:jumping40:jumping40:jumping40:jumping40 YIPPEE! Many congrats on bringing Jazzy home! I hope you all live happily ever after. :jumping40:jumping40:jumping40

In the meantime you're openly bashing us on other forums. We've been nothing but supportive to you from the time you joined here. Just because we're not throwing happy banners and celebratory emoticons around since you brought Jazzy home ON A WHIM, does NOT give you the right to attack any specific member.
