Good news today!!
When Chaz went back to the vet today, she was astonished at how well he is doing. She decided to hold off on giving him beta blockers and is cutting back his Lasix! He has been getting 1ml each morning and evening, and we are cutting back to .5ml once a day:) I did get a refill in case we need to up it again, but this is such good news as the Lasix is so hard on his kidneys. She had thought he would be on this dosage for the rest of his life, and probably more, so what a blessing today. She didn't charge me for the visit, only for the Lasix as well. She introduced us to her daughter in law,Sarah, who is also a vet, and she wanted Sarah to listen to his chest in case he needs to go back in the next 2 weeks while Marg, his reg. vet, is on vacation.
It was so nice to leave the vet's with a smile instead of tears! She said that whatever we are doing is working and to keep it up:)

Woohoo! Go CHAZ!! That's fantastic news.

What's the other medication he's on? I know the heart medicine the doctor gave my dog was supposed to be very good for dogs with congestive heart failure. Maybe that's what's helped him so enormously?

He is on Vetmedin capsules. They are 1.25mg and we split the capsule and give him half in the morning and half at night. Is that what your dog was on?

Yay Chaz!!! FINALLY some good news, Terry!

You just managed to put a BIG smile on my face, and I KNOW you're all smiles, too. :)

He is on Vetmedin capsules.
Yes, that's the one (although she had tablets). From what I was told, it is supposed to be very good stuff. Anyway, I hope he maintains his improvement and you have him for as long as possible. Gorgeous little boy.

Yayyyyy!!!! GO CHAZ!!! Woo hoo!!

That's so amazing!! I'm so glad he's doing so well, Terry! I can see you doing the happy dance!

HUGS!

Sweet!!! Told you Chaz was a little warrior! I'm so happy for you, Terry! All that extra love and care you and Reg have lavished upon him is paying off. He's blessed to have you taking care of him.

YES!!!!....our prayers have been answered in THE BEST WAY!
that is awesome news Terry, I am grinning from ear to ear, I know you are too!!
way to go Chaz!!

When my dog had heart failure he was given 6 months to live. He lived 3 years. They were good years. At the end he died from a non heart issue. Ask you vet about Vetmedin. It is a great drug for congestive heart failure.

Thank you, Daniell, that is so good to hear about your dog. He is currently on Vetmedin:)

Chaz just realized he has a full blown internet following, he knows he is a star and beloved by his public, so he realizes he must stick around to be a beacon of faith and hope to all of us... and he would break his momma's heart leaving so soon!!

And who says little miracles do not happen everyday.... :)

Now I want today's appointment for Church to go JUST as well as it did for Chaz yesterday. :)

So another day of good news! Church is healing well and I can stop carrying him everywhere in one more week!
He and Chaz both go back for another check up in a month, and she didn't charge us anything today either:)
What a great vet, and great news!!!
