Some fruits and vegetables I put together for her.

More pics coming soon!:green2::green2::green2:

She is a gorgeous little girl! And I just have to add, our cage has the exact same doors as yours, must be made by the same company or something.

Haha thanks! Our cage is made by HQ, if you check at the bottom of the cage, on the front of the very bottom tray, you will see a big red sign that says HQ!

Ours doesn't seem to say anything on it, I would like to know what brand it is but I don't know how to tell, it has the same fold down door on the top, only the pieces that hold the doors closed are triangles not circles, it has the same little door on the right side(if your looking straight at the cage) too. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at my brothers house two weeks ago so I can't take a picture of it, this is the only picture I really have of it.

You can kind of see the top door in this picture

Cute birdie!!! I'm not sure about the cage, maybe it's a kokee kondo.

What a cutie! My little guy refuses to eat anything but his Parrot food he came with and Apples. Any tips on how to get him to start eating his veggies?

Awww your Macaw is adorable and seems to be very relaxed :)

I am beginning to think you missed your calling and are supposed to be making salads like that not only for our feathered friends, but also for us :)

You can try eating veggies in front of him, making a fuss of how good it is. If you seem interested in eating something, it may help make him interested in what you have.

What parrot food is he using? I chop my veggies very small (I have a Senegal). I also vary the veggies daily. My vet told me that we shouldn't feed them the same vegetable/fruit/nut/seed/meat/snack more than 3 times a week. Also start in small amounts so you know how much he is actually eating :)

This is another great idea--I actually do this to get Max out of the cage. :) (he refuses to step up, yet, so I make our evenings veggie/fruit/snack time with mommy). Max's Achilles Heel is Sweet Potatoes. He LOVES them. I bought raw sweet potatoes, peeled & chopped them and boiled them up. I put them in a bowl and brought a fork. I sat in front of his cage, and began taking a bite. "Mmmm... Max, it is your favorite.. Sweet Potatoes! Yummy!!! They're sooo good!"

Max went to the top of his cage to see what the fuss was all about, saw the beloved sweet potatoes, and came down to his lowest perch and flew onto the perch I had by his door. He walked up the perch, hopped onto the dish, and began eating the sweet potatoes out of the bowl. :)

Max did this again last night, when I brought in snap peas, carrots and broccoli. The only exception is he didn't use the perch to walk up onto the bowl. This time, he flew straight to my shoulder. :)

This works for me : just eat a piece food, and give the other side to your bird. He/She will see that you like it, and will probably try it!!!
