I have a pied cockatiel male now 3 and 1/2 months old..i had normal 2cm perch tickness now one of these were chewed and at a bird centre they suggested me a more ticker perch of 3cm (1 inch) tickness..is this ok?? I never saw this tick perch for a cockatiel! They told me its better so that he can grip well a d suppose to have space between his toas when he is on it! Any real advice and suggestions pls?? And anyone who use this? Im posting photos here here...thanks alot! Hope i did the right thing buying him this! They told me its more stronger and more realable for him abd it will not be chewed...also i bought a flat perch corner for him..

The important thing is to use perches of varying thicknesses so his feet get the proper exercise and to use natural wood perches not dowel rods. A one inch perch combined with a half inch perch gives him a choice based on how his feet feel. The flat perch provides yet another option for him.

Does your cockatiel get a lot of out of cage time? I hope he gets at least 4 hours a day. His cage is very small for a cockatiel. You should consider getting him a cage that's about 30x 18x32 inches.

I agree with @DonnaBudgie , that cage is way too small. Picture yourself living in your bathroom or closet.
Chewing is a good thing. Perches are cheap to buy.

Yes he has an other perch of 2cm down under where he has the food and drink bowls and an other flat corner one as per photos attached...what you think pls?

The perch thickness is fine as are the corner flat perches. It's preferable to use natural wood branch perches instead of dowel rods.
Seriously, the cage is way too small. I wouldn't put a budgie in that cage except for sleeping. Please get him a bigger cage. Does he have toys? Please get him some toys to play with.
