Overwhelming

To say this past month has been overwhelming is an understatement… my son wanting lovebirds has turned into quite a educational journey for me… I deep clean their cage and whatever is in it once a week… since the first weekly deep clean we have been giving our two lovies out of the cage time but only in my sons room as they are more accustomed to him but are not tamed… I’ve been telling him every week to clean his room when I do the cage… today I went in his room to clean because my son is sick and by god there was poop around the front of his head board where they occasionally perch… on the back of his computer monitor and so forth… I had only been putting liners above his closet where their play gym was but now that they are more comfortable they are perching all over the place …. Any suggestions on what we can do to prevent pooping everywhere?

I have the same problem because 8 of my budgies spend the day out of their cages in the main living area of my house. All you can do is identify the places where they like to hang out and either clean frequently or put sheets of newspaper where the poop lands and replace it every few days.
Your son, if he's a typical 19 year old, is unlikely to clean even day so you may have to do it for him or his room will get pretty gross.
Cleaning up the poop isn't that big a project. I use wet paper towels. If you put the wet towel on the poop pile and let it sit for 10 minutes it wipes right up.

Certain places that my birds perch alot ill use puppy pads. Then i just throw those away. Other places get dish towels.

Isn't that how it usually happens? The man or woman who manages the home gets to take care of the kid's pets. Teenagers barely clean their rooms anyway and add poop from two free flying birds and it's a real mess.

Parrots, any size, require dedication, real dedication. Which is why I absolutely always try to squash youngsters, teens, students from getting a parrot. Cleaning up poops is best done ASAP, the longer they sit the harder they are to remove. Done immediately they wipe right off.
