I was able to create a flock. So they are all on me at the same time, or on the spiral rope perches next to me. Only one budgie stays away and that's Clear Skies. It feels pretty special to be surrounded by parrots. On my shoulders, my arms, my hands my legs and the budgies on my head or the back if my chair. When they all make kiss noise, or laugh or say hello in unison it magic!

I can fathom how a flock experience as you have described would be a unique, magical. My reflection of any similarity is of no contact encounters of finned flocks scuba diving. Schools of fish in tight formation will react to exaggerated arm movements, thrusting away and turning back in unison.

Ta-dah has a wet butt...im hoping that's from getting into water.....but her poops aren't good. I will get yogurt tomorrow for her.

Laura, the digestive system of our birds is not designed to process dairy products. It is my understanding birds developmentally never acquired the enzymes that are needed to process lactose. Low lactose products such as yogurt might be reconsidered with the current health concerns, even in moderation.

Fascinating.

I found a supporting discussion on a forum for chicken owners/breeders.

my Ta-dah is up to 81!!! I feel she has to making eggs???? When sick got down to 65, her normal is 74, after first round of antibiotics she just has kept going up....
She us trying to climb into cabinets and drawres...... she us 7 no eggs laid eggs before...
I can't handle this....

I'm sorry :(

What a nightmare.

Having recently experienced egg-laying, the things I'd say to watch for are, any appetite changes (decrease= most important, but increase can also be a signal that they are trying), wobbling on perch, vomiting and/or straining to poop/significant changes in droppings (esp lack of solids).

The straining and decreased appetite can sometimes happen even in a non egg-bound bird (as long as it doesn't go on for too long). The same is true (in my experience) with the poop.

See if you can get her a calcium source and watch closely from the time you notice any symptoms. Last time Noodles has an egg, I noticed serious changes to behavior about 7 days before (but eating and pooping etc remained normal until a day or 2 before, for the most part). Is there feces in her poop?

She us eating like crazy. Ate a teaspoon of pellets. And now cracking seed mix. Has been eating her veggies.
The diarrhea started after the doxycycline. Im nit giving it to her today. Waiting see what vet says.
No straining, no egg down ready yet. ..
Thanks White Flight for pro yogurt users

Vet doesn't like all that water in poop either. But wants me to keep giving doxycycline. I'm just not going to Today I'm just not....
I will see how things are tomorrow
Edit:
I trust my vet...
She wants me to do doxycycline in the water, so small amounts get in her and hopefully nit upsetting guts....
I need to clear the infection.....
So I will do that tomorrow
..im not giving it today I am not!@!@
I trust myself too
She said not to worry about eggs till i have too
1 thing at a time....
She knows my own health us going down hill

Here is the reference I found supporting the use of yogurt: Why are people feeding birds yogurt?

Reference that does not support the use of yogurt: Yogurt: Scientific Value Defined

I posted this link in the Ornithology thread a while ago, Dairy Products and Birds , which explains the absence of lactose in cultured yogurt: "Interestingly, live culture yogurt does contain lactose when it is produced; however the live organisms in the yogurt consume the lactose, eventually removing the lactose entirely from the yogurt before it is consumed!"

Within this post, I also reminded readers that not all yogurt is from the Cow. We have sheep, goat and now primarily coconut yogurt (cultured) which I make myself. My guys love the coconut yogurt with passion fruit pulp.:)

It sure sounds like Ta-dah is making eggs...your vet gave good advice Laura, do not worry about that which is not readily apparent at the moment. Stay strong and take care of your 'emotional, mental and physical' well-being, especially because of the Autoimmune factor of MG.

Thank you all..
I do have a good method now for treatment of the budgies.
I wait till dark, use acrylic to move them to bottom of cage and portioned off. Then turn off the lights and reach in to grab.
The medicine i mix in baby bird formula ( just a couple if drops) for so thicker and harder to choke on.
Then I release the treated budgie on top of the divider. Then turn off lights and grab my next patient. This has greatly reduced the stress!

Wow, very innovative.....good job finding a way to medicate them!

They were bashing themselves in the cage before. I tried a net and a towel , still terrible.
This new method is very easy and calm.

Ta dah seems brighter, morning poop was a little wet but seemed okish...waiting for next poop to judge how yogurt is working.

I gave her a little boiled egg served on the shell, she ate the shell, and yogurt has calcium too. And I hope her pellets do

Ok here us poop, only slightly improved, there are urates but tgey are stringy...way to much urine...fragments of fecal matter

Oh so smart Laura! I had found originally with my budgies they were soo much calmer at nighttime, much more willing to be handled, (when I would come home from work at night) than in daylight. (In fact I added room-darkening curtains to my windows for that very reason.) So your method seems brilliant!

Pikachu is very hormonal, guarding cage and screaming his head off if I come within 4 feet..ugh.

Ta-dah still 81, will only beak taste yogurt, may have to try a different brand. Poops still way to wet with soft to unformed fecal matter.
I fo have her with doxycycline water now..I remain worried about her.

No sneezing since doxycycline for anyone. No green urine for anyone either . Budgies poops are all perfect as well..
Still intermittent swelling around Pikachu eye..no more intermittent nasal draining.

Edit: been feeding yogurt all morning, as she only takes a beak tip at a time. Also switched to a yogurt that contains Acidophilus, as the first did not. Now poop is moving in the right direction . Still stringy urates, still not as formed as should be. I will sldo find an old normal picture to share for comparison. Ok the normal poop has a lot if seed shells dropped on it but you can see the difference. Feel fee to share normal GCC poop picture if you can .

Good to see improvement! How are you doing, Laura?

Thanks for check..im having fatigued diaphragm muscles and episodes of trouble breathing...have to be very careful in guarding energy. Counting the days to next week and treatment. It works fast so should have improvement the same day.

And sooo worried about my Ta-dah

Edit: yippee poop getting lot better with yogurt that had Acidophilus culture!

Recap for guests . Penny my quaker got very sick, a week later the rest of the flock got sick. Some only picked up by weigh loss alone. Azithromyacin saved Pennys life and all were given 21 day treatment to clear chlamydia. 10 days after treatment Pikachu followed by Penny relapsed, then the rest did. A new 45 day treatment of Doxycycline was started. This caused Tadah to develop diarrhea. Yogurt with Acidophilus culture, very much helping this.
Also advised to stop useing vacuum, as it was spreading the bacteria. And to use dilute bleach to clean, with birds away and windows open.

2nd edit: so happy! Ta-dah hadn't come out for mommy and me time for the past 2 nights. She just asked to come out for mommy and me time right now. We are cuddling, her poops look better and she seems to feel better ! O hope good poops tomorrow too.
