Hi! I've posted a few times and fallen in love with these forums. So here's our story.
About 6 months ago our 10 year old daughter decided she wanted a bird after falling in love with one at the pet store. She saved and saved, did chores, was on her best behavior and saved about 60$. We figured that should get her a little bird and cage. So my boyfriend and I start doing research on birds. Which ones talk, how well, personalities, diets, etc etc. Needless to say I fell for the CAG. They seemed to be all around great birds. We found one for sale and made a trip to look at him. He had been with his previous owners his whole life. He talked, both in English and Spanish, he played and he seemed really happy. We just didn't expect him to be so big! It was too late, Papito came home with us. My boyfriend spent the next few days making a whole new cage for him right down to homemade toys and perches. We have had him for a month now and he is amazing. Talks, steps up, gives kisses and loves attention. We got super lucky with him.

It wasn't long before we realized we had to have another bird for the kids, since the CAG ended up being mommy's baby. We came across a sun conure and after visiting decided we had to bring home. Poor Malibu was being neglected and was in serious need of love and attention. He likes to bite, scream and cause chaos. Again, not a bird the kids will be able to hold or play with anytime soon.
So one more bird we searched for. We found our little Quaker and went for a visit. Puffers took to both of us rather quickly and we brought him home. He will only let the males in the house take him from his cage, but once he does, he happily sits on anyone and loves the attention the kids give him. He will spend hours chattering and laughing with them. So for now our flock is complete!
