Everything goes straight to the freezer. I pestered my husband into buying me a freezer specifically for bird food. I keep enough food on hand so that every bag gets a minimum 30 day freeze before used.
It is a bit "ewww" but it happens.

I've been laughing about this nonstop. Will be in the kitchen fixing foodstuffs for the boys (human and psittacine) and think "nummy weevils". I just like the sound of the words.
