Gypse Blue and Gold Macaw
Took my Blue and Gold Macaw Gypsy to the vet for nail trim and since we got back home she has not been herself, she ususally likes to fly from toy to toy real happy go lucky, she still plays but wants us to pick her up and either hold her or place her on her boing or orbit, this was her first trim wondering if this is normal and she will come out of it, she is eating normal and seems happy just not flying around

I wouldn't worry just yet. Was Gypse a bit 'man handled' when getting his nails done? He may just still be in a state of shock, and may want some extra TLC and reassurance he'll be all right, nothing more. :)

My Niko likes throwing 'pity parties' when he falls or bumps his wing on something, but he snaps out of it after a while.

Yeah i think that is what i am thinking too, but never hurts to ask others

Nemo is not a flighted bird but was out of sorts for a day after he went in. (Apparently 2 years since he was last done by provious owner.) Give him a day or 2 and tlc.

My wife has a 22 year old blue and gold. Rudi has to be gassed, nitrous oxide, I think,, for a nail trim. It is pretty common for blue and golds to freak out on nail trims and even die from the stress. We know a person whose bird expired this way.
