Hi All,

I have recently purchased a pineapple GCC. She is soooo adorable and seems to have somewhat already attached to me, as she will start calling for me once I leave her site.

I have posted on another bird forum, but am very open to more opinions and suggestions, so here I am.

I just purchased her cage (pre-owned, but in great shape), which is a prevue hendryx 3152. It measures 20x24x35, and includes a stand, seed catcher, and a play stand up top. Here is a link to the cage (in Medium size): Prevue Hendryx Signature Select Series Wrought Iron Bird Cage in Black at PETCO

My main concern is the bar spacing. I have done countless research on what the appropriate bar spacing should be. The best answer that I have come across is 5/8" or 3/4" is perfect. This cage has 3/4" bar spacing. Some have said that 3/4" is too big for GCC, and others say it is just fine.

After keeping a close eye on her, it doesn't appear there is any way she can fit her head through the bars (which is my MAIN concern). When measuring the actual space between the bars, it appears to be less than 3/4", but maybe it is measured differently at the manufacturer.

What does everyone think? Is 3/4" bar spacing too big for a GCC? Does anyone here have their GCC in a cage w/ this bar spacing, and if so, does it seem to work just fine.

I am really anxious for the "best" answer, and if it is determined that this is too big, then I'll have to purchase another cage for her.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

Hey! 3/4" is what I have for my GCC and I think it is just fine. No need to worry.
