New addition to our flock

Just wanted to share the happy news that we recently brought home an older red-crowned Amazon named Gemi. Gemi is scheduled to see our avian vet, Dr. Jamie Lindstrom, soon. Anyone else have a red-crowned Amazon and black-capped conures? We think our flock is pretty great!

Correction... Gemi (above pic) is a lilac-crowned amazon, not a red-crown. He/she got a clean bill of health today from Dr. Lindstrom, DVM extraordinaire!

I have 2 red crowned Amazons but no Conures.
your bird sure looks like a red crown to me.
Lilac crowned have only a small strip of deep red on forehead.
my male bird is very active and playful.
both birds talk but not a large voc.

Lots of Red for a Lilac-crowned Amazon. But a side-view can be a fooler. The 'Lilac-crown' is the confirmation.

Our very first Amazon was a re-homed Lilac-crowned amazon and she taught me everything I know about Amazons, well at least most of it!

Lilac's are the lovers of the Amazon family, but will be offended is not loved on!
