A sun conure, budgie. Miss my cockatiel Sam. See you someday I hope Sam! And my little girl Sky a budgie that passed away in 2007 Thunder my budgie passed away too last September. Miss you little budd
My Sun Conure Sunny has passed away. My husband and I believe that he pulled out a blood feather overnight while we were sleeping. We woke up to him being very lethargic and barely able to perch on his perch. My husband tried very hard to use the styptic pencil to stop any blood but to no avail. Our hearts are broken. Sunny is buried now out in my garden with my hostas and will not be disturbed there. I have a memorial plaque coming for him.

Sunny was 12 years old and what a wonderful bird he was. So loving, cuddly, and smart! He loved to get kisses! He was a clown bird for sure. I will miss his scream even!

Love you Sun! We will always miss you!

I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

Your memorial garden spot sounds as if it will be a lovely reminder of your wonderful friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to loose a beloved pet

I am so sorry for your loss of Sunny. 12 years is a long time to have a pet, and for him to go suddenly. At leafs Sunny is flying free now, and I'm sure your memorial for him will bring back fond memories each time you pass it in the yard.

I'm so sorry. Be thankful you had 12 wonderful years. Your memorial sounds beautiful.

I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs*

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss of Sunny. It's so hard, especially unexpectedly.

Awww....I'm so sorry. RIP Sunny!

Thanks everyone! He appeared fine up until that morning when I got him up. He even had a recent vet visit for just a "well birdie check" last month. All the vet said was that he was a good bird, looked good except that he was getting a little pudgy.

I don't know why birds do this. I wish I had been able to catch it sooner. I was so frantic and crying my eyes out when I saw what had happened. At that point he had lost so much blood that there was nothing I could do.

Just the other day he was playing with his toys, eating, drinking well. Such a shame and heartbreak.

I have the plaque coming soon and it is a garden stone with the saying "Forever in our hearts Sunny" on it.

So sorry to hear about Sunny
12 years he shared his love and was a wonderful companion to your family
May he rest in peace

Fly free Sunny

I'm very sorry to hear about your baby Sunny.....For future reference, if you can't stop the bleeding, corn starch or flour would stop it very quickly.
