I am a 2 yr old Hahns Macaw. I was in a shelter for about a year listed as unadoptable because I was so nippy. My original owner died of cancer so I was caged for quite awhile.
Then one day this big guy with a bald head arrived at the shelter looking at a green cheek conure and a quaker.
I gave out a big call to him and we have best friends ever since.
He changed my name to Elmo because he has 2- cats Bert and Ernie which are now part of my flock. I purr to them all the time. They normally just ignore me.
When my owner takes me out its me and both bert and Ernie on his lap.
He reads everything he can get so that he understands me !!!!
Me feathers are beautiful now and my health is amazing----
I have alot of toys and a playstand.
I'm still learning how to play instead of just survive.
I think this forum is great my owner has learned a lot thank you
