Visited the vet today for check-up and nail trimming. There was another IRN so I went closer to take a look. The owner told me the IRN is 5 years old and he loves flying and etc. We just had the nice chat and he showed me his IRN and that's when I saw a problem. My IRN was much bigger and had thicker toes, legs and head. I was like "Either mine is big or yours is small. What's his weight?" Then he told me his IRN was 140g.
So, I asked the nurse if I could weigh my IRN. Mine came out to be 189g. Bear in mind that my IRN doesn't even have full tail feathers, he didn't have his meal yet and he is still growing.
While I was in shock, he tells me that mine could be a hybrid between alexandrine and indian ring neck.
Is my bird a hybrid...? He doesn't look like a hybrid though. Is there a way to check that he is a hybrid?
