He wants to say listen to me, move outside. He has your exact voice. Amazing.

You got it spot on Spiritbird

He does sound like me, don't know if that is good or bad
I wish he had an accent....... (or me)
I am going to say something in an accent, and teach it to him, see how that goes

We love Mishka videos!

I am sure Mishka enjoys making the video's Bill, as much as you love watching them.

When he sees the camera in the kitchen, he first turns his back on the camera, shows me his butt, then proceeds to clean his beak THEN he is ready to shoot.

Enjoy them

Firstly to keep you all updated..............

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart, BillsBirds and Wenz2712. Bill for all the research you did, and Wendy your valuable input and well, I am forever grateful. I did not approach other members as I knew Bill is retired and Wendy had time on her hands to assist me.

Guinness Book Of World Records have replied.

Here is their query:

This is quite a complex record to appraise and so we will require a little bit longer to look into the details.

Are you able to assist us in a similar summary to how this title is worded presently and we will then verify this with the evidence you have sent.

When submitting Mishka's attempt I headed the title

"Largest Vocabulary for an African Grey"

They stated that Alex is the most intelligent parrot, as he knows words for over 35 objects and seven colours. Alex has a vocabulary of about 150 words.

I explained to them (in details about Mishka's talking ability) and that I am not comparing Mishka to Alex at all.

This is another category of sheer amount of words spoken and understood.

This puts both birds in different classes

I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE

What they require from me is a suitable title

I have hit a blank with names for the title

Bill suggested I must have the name pet in the title (remember that Alex was an experimental subject and Mishka is a pet) and came up with
PET AFRICAN GREY PARROT WITH LARGEST VOCABULARY
or LARGEST VOCABULARY FOR PET AFRICAN GREY PARROT

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, my brain is now burnt out

ANTOINETTE - AFRICAN GREY "PET" WITH LARGEST VOCABULARY

Dear Mrs Antoinette Routledge,

Thank you for sending us the details of your recent record attempt for 'Largest Vocabulary for an African Grey'. We are afraid to say that we are unable to accept this as a Guinness World Record.

We do already have a record for this category and unfortunately upon reviewing your evidence what you have achieved does not better this. The current world record is:

The most intelligent parrot is Alex, an African Grey Psittacus erithacus , who knows words for over 35 objects and seven colors. Alex also has a functional use of phrases and a distinction between three, four, five and six sided shapes. His accuracy has averaged 80% when tested on these abilities.

Guinness World Records has absolute discretion as to which record applications are accepted and our decision is final. Guinness World Records may at its discretion and for whatever reason identify some records as either no longer monitored by Guinness World Records or no longer viable.

As your record application has not been accepted, Guinness World Records is in no way associated with the activity relating to your record proposal and we in no way endorse this activity. If you choose to proceed with this activity then this is will be of your own volition and at your own risk.

Once again thank you for your interest in Guinness World Records.

How many words does yours know. Sorry to hear he didn't make it.

Thanks at least I tried. I am just disappointed that they are comparing him to Alex. It was a completely different category.
Alex was only able to say +- 150 words.

Mishka last word count was 1002 words, and has not been updated for 6 months.

Awwwwwwwwwww Mishka is a record winner with all of us. Alex is pretty tough to be up against for a record. 'We love you Mishka

I think that its not really fair to compare birds and their intelligence. Each bird has such individuality and are exposed to so many different stimuli that it is unfair to compare them. Alex was extraordinary in his ability to learn and his cognitive skills. Mishka is fabulous in his word accumulation and you have done such a great job with him. He is such a wonderful bird.
