Bumble - Pacific (or Celestial) Parrotlet hatched 02/19/17
So tonight I get to drive a million miles to do a meet and greet with PB! I'm super excited and I hope she likes me. Assuming all goes well and she's upgraded to Actual Bird, I'll drive the million miles again on Saturday to bring her home. She's been weaned 4 days and the breeder likes them to be at 7 days; we talked about her coming home tonight (because she's a million miles away), but we both felt like the extra few days was a good idea.

In the meantime, I have to put her cage together, get it set up with the few toys that should arrive this week, walk around the apartment searching for hazards, get rid of all my chemical cleaning supplies, candles, etc. etc. So I have plenty to keep me busy until Saturday morning!

I have her well-baby check scheduled for Monday. The place I'm taking her has one CAV on staff and one who's turned in all her paperwork and is just waiting for it to go through. That's the one that I'm seeing since she had Monday availability and I already have a scheduled day off.

Just wanted to share he update with you because everyone in my real life is sick of hearing about it! Haha!

Let it happen. Honestly, if she/he is not interested in you or seems off put by handling, you might want to ......wait. I know, I know, hard to do that, but winning over a parrot is a lot harder then having one pick you. Good luck, they are such cute little buggers. But tough with a capital T. I saw one bully off a Grey and a cockatoo , right off a play stand. Fearless, thats what I thought. Fearless.

Bum-bum-BUM...

So the little girl came out, stepped up, and then flew around the room. Once she settled a little, she let me pick her up and she scooted up my arm and hung out on my shoulder and checked out my hair and stomped around my neck for a few minutes. Then she hopped off my shoulder and pooped on the couch. Which I thought was *very* polite.

Then I met her brothers and sisters, and got to see 4 newly hatched linnies, and then we went out to the aviary where I got to meet her parents and all of the other little guys. [emoji4]

So I will pick her up on Saturday, and we're going to meet so I only have to drive half a million miles LOL

Oh and her name is Bumble. [emoji211]

So I've heard. I'm sure Bumble and I will have our share of discussions about this!

Fits in the palm of your hand! :) simply adorable! And its great that Bumble had no problem excepting you right off the bat.
MOST babies are like that,in comparison to a more mature birdie.
For BB...the little fluff boy...it was love at first sight to him about his new Daddy lol :D

She is adorable. Bumble like a Bee !

Exactly! Someone told me that when they hatch, they're the size of a bumblebee and I immediately thought "I'm getting a BumbleBird!"
