I had my eyes on the Ekkie now for about 3 weeks, my wife tried talking me out of it, but then seeing that this one was such good natured little fella, she gave in. Yeah, 5 parrots, 3 dogs, and 15 chickens can keep you busy. Lucky for me I work from home, occasionally I meet with clients and have to leave the birds on their own for a few hours, not much.

Both are beauties! You have a serious flock.

Both so beautiful! Congrats!

Congratulations on your two new flock members!

Looks like sweet birds . Nice to hear of a hand tamed budgie [never seen one :)].

Cute as heck. You might have just sealed eclectus for me

My wife and I never have either, usually Budgies we've seen in past
are quite timid....not this one. This one acts like a big parrot in a teeny little body. Quite adorable.

Hi Chris

Are you getting an Eclectus too? It took me a while, I tend to let the birds come to me, rather than I pick out a bird. I let them pick me. The bond becomes much better in my opinion. And must say this is one sweet Ekike.

Congrats! They are both beautiful! Love the name Twinkie! :D

Hawk, I'm debating RFM, eclectus, and blue crown conure/mini macaw

Hawk, I'm debating RFM, eclectus, and blue crown conure/mini macaw

I have been searching for a while for an eclectus. Of all I seen, in a few
avian stores in the past year, this is the first one that called out to me. Wanted to be on me when I seen it.

I thought oh it's just being friendly....so a few more visits, he recognized
me and came right to me. From then on I was sold. My Zon poppie is all google eyes over Tyler the Ekkie. Tyler is quite taken to her as well.
They had tyler next to a BFA, ( like my Zon) which was always out and they got along quite well. May explain why Tyler wants to be near Poppie. My Grey just stares at it very quietly, and then see him slowly wanting to go over to see him...LOL...I say Uh uh...no...Greyson ( my Grey) just Goes " OOOOooooooohh" and goes back to his perch.
My Senni wants to attack it....he's an evil beast.

Congrats, two very cute additions to your flock.:)

Thanks Laura....How you been doing? You been through quite a bit.
Meant to see how you were doing since all that.

The Budgie is the most unusual little thing...Like a big parrot in a very tiny body. He went for ride on my wife's shoulder in truck. Knows step up.
And is just a lovable thing, rubs it's head on your hand, and nibbles the cheek and ears.

I personally never encountered a budgie this hand tame. Like having a big parrot.

Tyler is a sweetie....first night home, he made a fuse about covering his cage. They never covered it at the bird store. So From then on I left it uncovered. My other birds are usual free, There cage doors are never shut. They go in when they are tired....But, with Tyler there now, I want to have them in their cages at night for everyone's safety till they get used to each other.
